Biodiesel Dry Wash
Once biodiesel has been separated from the glycerol layer it can still contain contaminants which should be removed before adding to your fuel tank. One method of removing these contaminants is to water wash your biodiesel, an alternative is to use a biodiesel dry wash product. Dry wash has an advantage over water washing as it is much easier to remove and separate from your biodiesel once washing is complete. Scintex has worked with speciality chemical manufactures to develop an exciting new dry wash product specifically designed for use with biodiesel. Siliwash© is an advanced synthetic Magnesium Silicate based product which has been modified to improve its ability to form filter cake and lower pressure drop during filtering. 'Siliwash©' displays an incredibly uniform crystal structure, with a large number of active sites which greatly helps its ability to bind contaminants such as KOH, NaOH, water, methanol, glycerol, unreacted triglycerides, soaps and particulate matter. As a result of many trials and testing, Scintex can put their name to Siliwash© and know it will be a product our customers will continue to want to use. |
