Taking up to 6mm in a single pass with a petrol engine scarifier is achievable however the results can be variable depending on the condition of your scarifier teeth and the hardness of the material you're removing. Single phase electric scarifiers are limited by the motor power output and removing 2-4mm per pass is often more realistic. A heavy duty polyethylene tank is mounted on a sturdy trolley and frame. Swivel wheels and oversized rear wheels make the vac portable and easy to pull along, even on rough surfaces. The head unit is attached with two large fasteners giving quick access to the filter. When operating as a wet vacuum the tank can be quickly emptied using the external waste removal hose. A simple to use switch panel allows each of the two motors to be operated independently giving varying levels of suction. Supplied with the vacuum kit is a 3m kink resistant vac hose and two heads (1x wet head, 1x dry head). The hose end is an industry standard 40mm diameter which suits many brands of equipment requiring dust extraction. For products not supporting the 40mm connection a simple vacuum adapter can be used. Concrete discs are changed within seconds as they are securely held in place by magnetic plugs - no screws, bolts or tools required. The 480mm grinder is compatible with the full range of Paddock 175mm discs as well as Floorex discs and many other brands. A 3HP fan cooled electric drive is coupled to the disc plate via a gear reduction transmission making sure to get the power to the floor where it's needed. In-built spirit levels will let the operator know when the machine is level. Adjustments can be made in 17 different positions by adjusting the axle height. The shroud is floating and automatically adjusts to the grinding height and disc wear. To prevent bouncing or vibration as well as to increase grinding work rate the unit is supplied with two counter weights which can be added to the front of the machine. Paddock 480mm and Floorex Satellite grinders use three of the 175mm grinding discs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHard vs Soft Compounds\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePaddock discs are supplied in soft and hard metal bonds. Concrete surfaces can vary widely and will determine if a hard or soft bond disc is required. Generally this selection will be made by trialing the disc. Hard concrete results in a soft non abrasive dust so a soft bond disc is required to help expose the diamond particles. If you find the machine is grinding too slow try a soft bond disc. The opposite applies for grinding softer concrete. Use a hard bond disc to prevent unnecessary disc wear. If you find the disc is wearing too fast switch to a hard bond disc. You can also visually inspect the disc and if too little diamond is exposed or the surface is getting hot then switch to a soft bond disc or a disc with fewer segments.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNumber of Disc Segments\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor coating and glue removal a 3 segment disc is recommended. This provides a uniform contact of all 3 segments while grinding over undulations in the concrete or surface, meaning the top layers are removed at an equal rate. Increasing to more segments or shoes results in some sections not making full contact on the concrete and leads to high spots in the concrete being ground down at the same time as the coating is trying to be removed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor concrete grinding, leveling and polishing we recommend at least 6 segments. If the grinding efficiency is too slow then switch to a disc with fewer segments. This results in higher pressure on the disc surface assisting diamond exposure. Conversely, if you find the disc wear to be too high then switch to a disc with fewer segments. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDisc Grit\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e?The Paddock range of discs starts with the coarsest disc (16 grit) and works through to the finest, 150 grit. Generally the concrete floor preparation process will start with a 30 grit disc and progress incrementally through to 80 grit. A finishing pass using a 150 grit disc will prepare the surface for sealer application. Most customers are satisfied with the result at this point. Concrete surfaces can vary widely and will determine if a hard or soft bond disc is required. Generally this selection will be made by trialing the disc. Hard concrete results in a soft non abrasive dust so a soft bond disc is required to help expose the diamond particles. If you find the machine is grinding too slow try a soft bond disc. The opposite applies for grinding softer concrete. Use a hard bond disc to prevent unnecessary disc wear. If you find the disc is wearing too fast switch to a hard bond disc. You can also visually inspect the disc and if too little diamond is exposed or the surface is getting hot then switch to a soft bond disc or a disc with fewer segments.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNumber of Disc Segments\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor coating and glue removal a 3 segment disc is recommended. This provides a uniform contact of all 3 segments while grinding over undulations in the concrete or surface, meaning the top layers are removed at an equal rate. Increasing to more segments or shoes results in some sections not making full contact on the concrete and leads to high spots in the concrete being ground down at the same time as the coating is trying to be removed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor concrete grinding, leveling and polishing we recommend at least 6 segments. If the grinding efficiency is too slow then switch to a disc with fewer segments. This results in higher pressure on the disc surface assisting diamond exposure. Conversely, if you find the disc wear to be too high then switch to a disc with fewer segments. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDisc Grit\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e?The Paddock range of discs starts with the coarsest disc (16 grit) and works through to the finest, 150 grit. Generally the concrete floor preparation process will start with a 30 grit disc and progress incrementally through to 80 grit. A finishing pass using a 150 grit disc will prepare the surface for sealer application. Most customers are satisfied with the result at this point.
