Sherpa 4x4 'The Colt' 12,000lb Winch

Heavy-Duty 4WD Recovery Power

The Colt is designed for 4WD owners who want strong recovery performance in a winch sized to suit common Australian bullbar installations.

Its 6.6hp motor, 205:1 planetary gearbox and 12,000lb rated line pull provide useful pulling capacity for demanding off-road recovery applications.

The latest model also features 316 stainless steel fittings and cross members, a genuine Albright heavy-duty solenoid, simple wired hand remote and Sherpa's distinctive yellow powder-coated finish.

Important: Winch rope or cable must be correctly wound onto the drum under load before first use. Refer to the Winch Cable section of the supplied manual for the correct procedure.

Why Choose the Sherpa Colt?

12,000lb Rated Line Pull
The Colt provides a rated line pull of 12,000lb (5,443kg), giving it useful capacity for larger 4WD recovery applications.

Powerful 6.6hp Series-Wound Motor
A heavy-duty 6.6hp series-wound motor provides the torque required for demanding winching loads, with both 12V and 24V versions available.

3-Stage Planetary Gearbox
The 205:1 planetary gearbox converts motor speed into controlled pulling force while maintaining a compact overall winch design.

Gearbox-Mounted Automatic Brake
The Colt uses an automatic brake integrated into the gearbox rather than the drum. This helps reduce heat transfer into the drum, which is particularly useful when operating with synthetic rope.

IP68 Rated
The winch carries an IP68 ingress rating, providing a high level of protection against dust and water ingress when correctly installed and maintained.

316 Stainless Steel Components
316 stainless steel fittings and cross members provide added corrosion resistance for demanding off-road environments.

Genuine Albright Heavy-Duty Solenoid

  • Synthetic Rope: 28m of 9.5mm rope rated to 20,900lb, supplied with a polished aluminium hawse fairlead.
