3 Phase Pumps

Three phase pump drives coupled to gear pumps with mounting foot make a complete unit capable of transferring heavy oils to hydraulic oils and diesel. Available in 415V or 240V 3 phase options. The disconnected drives and pumps mean heat transfer is limited giving these pumps great durability and a continuous duty cycle.

Three-phase pumps are often preferred for fixed industrial, agricultural and mining applications that require reliable motor starting, efficient operation or extended running periods. They can be well suited to larger motors and continuous-duty services. The choice still depends on the pump type, liquid and required performance, and a compatible three-phase electrical supply must be available at the installation.
The collection covers different pump designs, including gear, submersible and dosing or metering pumps. Depending on the individual model, applications may include heavy oils, hydraulic oils, diesel, wastewater and selected chemicals. Compatibility must be checked for the exact pump because casing materials, seals, viscosity limits, solids handling and temperature ratings vary significantly.
Separating the electric motor and pump with a coupling can limit direct heat transfer between the two components and allows each part to be mounted and serviced as a distinct assembly. This arrangement is useful for durable, continuous-duty transfer of oils and diesel. Correct alignment and coupling inspection are important, as misalignment can increase vibration and wear.
Selected three-phase pump systems may be suitable for speed control using a correctly specified variable frequency drive, allowing flow to be adjusted for the process. This is not appropriate for every pump or motor, and minimum speeds, cooling and pressure limits must be considered. Confirm suitability before fitting a drive, particularly with positive-displacement gear pumps or dosing equipment.
Electrical connection and motor protection should be completed by a licensed electrician familiar with three-phase equipment. Commissioning should also verify motor rotation, overload settings, pipework, priming and operating pressure before sustained use. Incorrect phase rotation can make some pumps run backwards, resulting in little or no flow and possible damage if the fault is not corrected promptly.
