240V Hot Water Circulation Pump – 155 L/min, 8m Head
Description
Heavy-duty 240V circulation pump designed for circulating hot water and compatible water/glycol mixtures in heating, cooling and industrial circulation systems. The SCP328G180 features three selectable operating speeds, allowing flow, head and power consumption to be adjusted to suit the application.
240V Hot Water Circulation Pump – 3 Speed
The SCP328G180 is a centrifugal circulation pump designed for closed-loop hot water and compatible coolant circulation applications. Its three-speed selector allows the operator to adjust pump performance to suit different system requirements.
At its highest setting, the pump provides a maximum stated flow of 155 L/min and maximum head of 8m.

Three-Speed Operation
A selector switch mounted directly to the pump terminal box provides three operating speeds. Changing the speed alters the pump's maximum flow, head and electrical power consumption, allowing performance to be better matched to the circulation system.
| Speed | Power | Max. Flow | Max. Head |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 150W | 40 L/min | 5m |
| Medium | 200W | 98 L/min | 7m |
| High | 270W | 155 L/min | 8m |
Note: Maximum flow and maximum head occur at different points on the pump performance curve and should not be interpreted as occurring simultaneously.
Hot Water & Glycol Circulation
The pump is designed for circulating clean water and compatible water/glycol mixtures in heating and cooling systems. The manufacturer's instructions specify a maximum glycol content of 30%.
Suitable applications can include:
- Hot water circulation
- Building heating systems
- Industrial coolant circulation
- Water/glycol circulation systems
- Machinery cooling and heating circuits
- Compatible closed-loop circulation systems
The pumped liquid should be clean, near-neutral and free from solid particles, mineral oil and excessive viscosity.
Operating Temperature & Pressure
The manufacturer's operating instructions specify a pumped-medium temperature range of 0°C to 110°C and a maximum working pressure of 10 bar.
The maximum stated ambient temperature around the pump is 40°C.
Because the boiling point of water varies with system pressure, hot-water systems must be correctly designed, pressurised and installed for the intended operating temperature.
Installation & Mounting
Correct mounting is important for reliable operation. The pump should be installed with the motor shaft in the horizontal plane. Do not install the pump with the motor shaft vertically.
The pump is designed for flooded circulation service and should not be operated dry.
The system should be completely filled and air removed from the pump and pipework before normal operation. The manufacturer's instructions provide a manual air-bleeding procedure where required.
Minimum Inlet Pressure
The manufacturer's manual specifies minimum inlet pressures at elevated fluid temperatures:
| Fluid Temperature | Minimum Inlet Pressure |
|---|---|
| 50°C | 0.05 bar |
| 95°C | 0.3 bar |
| 110°C | 1.0 bar |
These minimum inlet pressure requirements help reduce the risk of cavitation at elevated liquid temperatures.

Important Installation Information
Installation and electrical connection should be carried out by appropriately qualified personnel. Ensure the pipework is clean before installation and that the direction of flow matches the arrow marked on the pump body.
Do not operate the pump without water. Before commissioning, fill and bleed the system to remove trapped air.
When circulating hot fluids, suitable precautions should be taken to prevent burns or scalding during operation, servicing or bleeding of the pump.
