Description
The Paddock 6.5kW Diesel Generator is a heavy duty single-phase generator designed for farms, construction sites, workshops, emergency backup and remote power applications. With a fully enclosed 10.9HP air-cooled diesel engine, electric key start, AVR voltage regulation and multiple AC and DC outputs, it provides a practical portable power solution where mains electricity is unavailable.
Rated for 6.5kW continuous output, the generator combines strong performance with an enclosed design that helps reduce operating noise compared with open-frame diesel generators.

Portable Diesel Power for Farms, Sites & Backup Use
A diesel generator is a practical choice for applications requiring reliable portable or standby power. The Paddock SDGR7KW is well suited to farms, rural properties, workshops, construction sites and backup power applications where a substantial 240V single-phase supply is required.
Typical applications include:
- Construction and building sites
- Farms and rural properties
- Workshop backup power
- Emergency and storm backup
- Remote pumping systems
- Power tools and site equipment
- Selected welders and machinery within generator capacity
- Off-grid and temporary power supply
6.5kW Continuous Output
The generator is rated to deliver 6.5kW continuous power at 240V / 50Hz.
This provides useful capacity for a wide range of single-phase loads; however, electrical equipment with motors, pumps, compressors or welders can have high starting currents. Always check both the running and starting requirements of connected equipment before use.
Where several appliances are connected at the same time, their combined electrical demand must remain within the generator's rated capacity.
Automatic Voltage Regulation
An integrated Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) helps maintain stable generator voltage as load changes during operation.
The generator produces conventional 240V single-phase AC power at 50Hz and is not an inverter generator.
For highly voltage-sensitive electronics, medical equipment or equipment specifically requiring inverter-quality power, confirm suitability with the equipment manufacturer before connection.
Electric Start with Recoil Backup
The diesel engine features convenient electric key starting with a starter battery included. A manual recoil starter and decompression lever provide an additional backup starting method.
This combination is particularly useful for emergency and remote applications where maintaining the ability to start the generator is important.
Efficient Air-Cooled Diesel Engine
The SDGR7KW is powered by a 192FE 10.9HP direct-injection air-cooled diesel engine operating at 3,000rpm.
Diesel engines are commonly selected for generators due to their fuel efficiency, strong low-speed torque and suitability for frequent load operation.
The 15L fuel tank provides an approximate run time of 7.1 hours at the full 6.5kW rated load. Actual fuel consumption and operating time will vary with electrical load, engine condition and operating environment.
Enclosed Generator Package
The engine and generator are housed inside a protective enclosure which helps reduce operating noise and protects key components during transport and storage.
Approximate sound levels are:
- 85dB at 2m
- 77dB at 7m
Actual sound levels may vary depending on load, surroundings and measurement conditions.
Integrated Controls & Monitoring
The generator includes a practical range of gauges and protective features to assist with operation and maintenance:
- Fuel level gauge
- Voltmeter
- Frequency meter
- Run-hour meter
- AC circuit breaker
- Low engine oil alert
A 12V DC output is also included and is rated at approximately 8.3A. This can be useful for suitable low-voltage applications and battery charging where compatible.
Easy to Move & Position
At approximately 190kg, this is a substantial generator, but the supplied handle and castor wheels make repositioning around workshops, sheds and worksites easier.
Always move and operate the generator on a firm, stable surface and ensure adequate ventilation around the enclosure.

Important Generator Safety
Ventilation: Never operate a diesel generator inside a home, shed, garage, vehicle, enclosed workspace or other poorly ventilated area. Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which can cause serious injury or death.
Electrical Connection: Connection of a generator to fixed building wiring, switchboards or a household backup-power system must be designed and completed by an appropriately licensed electrician using suitable changeover and isolation equipment.
Load Selection: Check the starting and running power requirements of all connected equipment. Motors, pumps, compressors and welders can require considerably more power during startup than their normal operating rating.
Before First Use
Generator engines are transported with only sufficient oil for storage and lubrication. Engine oil must be added and the oil level checked before starting the generator.
SAE 10W-30 is commonly suitable for many Australian operating conditions; however, always refer to the engine manual and select the oil grade appropriate for the expected ambient temperature.
