Description
The Paddock Tow Behind Drop Seeder & Fertiliser Spreader is a simple, effective way to distribute seed, fertiliser and other suitable granular materials across lawns, gardens and smaller acreage. Tow it behind a ride-on mower, quad bike or ATV and the ground-driven system meters material evenly across an 85cm spread width.
Integrated spikes create shallow impressions in the soil to help seed and fertiliser make better contact with the ground, while the adjustable flow control lets you tailor the application rate to suit the material being spread.
- 50kg hopper capacity
- 85cm drop spread width
- Adjustable material flow rate
- Integrated soil-opening spikes
- Spike depth up to 50mm
- Ground-driven operation – no PTO or power required
- UV-stabilised polyethylene hopper
- Solid rubber puncture-proof wheels
- Heavy-duty 3/4" steel axle
- Clevis hitch connection
- Suitable for ride-on mowers, quad bikes and ATVs
- 12 month manufacturer's warranty
Paddock Tow Behind Drop Seeder & Fertiliser Spreader
Seed & Fertiliser Application for Lawns and Small Acreage
The Paddock Drop Seeder is designed for home gardens, landscaping, lawns and smaller acreage where accurate, controlled application is more important than the wide throw pattern of a broadcast spreader.
With a 50kg capacity and 85cm working width, it is well suited to low-speed towing behind ride-on mowers, quad bikes and ATVs.
Drop Spreading for Controlled Application
Unlike a broadcast spreader that throws material outward, this unit drops seed or fertiliser directly beneath the hopper across the working width.
This provides greater control around boundaries, gardens, paths and other areas where overspreading may be undesirable.
Integrated Spikes for Improved Soil Contact
The rotating spike assemblies create shallow impressions in the soil as the spreader moves forward. This helps seed and fertiliser reach below the surface and improves contact with the soil.
Important: These spikes are designed to assist seeding and fertiliser application. They are not intended for deep lawn aeration or relieving heavy soil compaction.
For dedicated soil aeration, use a purpose-built Paddock Tow Behind Spike Aerator.
Adjustable Material Flow
The spread rate is controlled using the adjustment handle mounted on the drawbar. This allows the operator to increase or reduce the amount of material being dispensed to suit different seeds, fertilisers and application rates.
For best results, calibrate the spreader for the selected material before treating the full area.
Ground-Driven Operation
The spreader requires no engine, battery, PTO or electrical connection. As the unit is towed, the rotating spike and axle assembly drives the internal distribution mechanism, making operation simple and low maintenance.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The spreader uses a powder-coated tubular steel frame with a rigid 3/4" steel axle for strength under load.
The hopper is manufactured from UV-stabilised polyethylene, helping resist corrosion and weather exposure, while solid rubber wheels eliminate puncture concerns.
Clevis Hitch Connection
A standard clevis-style hitch with pin makes attachment straightforward to compatible towing vehicles including:
- Ride-on lawn mowers
- Quad bikes
- ATVs
- Other suitable small property vehicles
Ideal Applications
- Grass seed application
- Lawn fertilising
- Garden and landscaping work
- Overseeding
- Small acreage maintenance
- Suitable lime or gypsum products
- Other compatible dry, free-flowing granular materials
For larger areas where speed and wide coverage are the priority, consider a Paddock Broadcast Seeder.
