Description
The Sherpa 4x4 Off-Road Recovery Bundle combines essential recovery equipment in a heavy-duty Sherpa tool bag, providing a comprehensive kit for 4WD touring and off-road vehicle recovery.
At the centre of the kit is the 22mm x 9m Sherpa kinetic recovery rope with a 13,300kg Minimum Breaking Strain (MBS) and minimum 30% stretch. The bundle also includes a synthetic-rope recovery pulley, two rated bow shackles, an aluminium recovery hitch and heavy-duty storage bag.

Sherpa Kinetic Recovery Rope – SRR22X9
The included 22mm x 9m Sherpa kinetic recovery rope is manufactured from high-stretch double-braid nylon and has a stated Minimum Breaking Strain (MBS) of 13,300kg / 29,260lb.
With a minimum 30% stretch, the rope progressively stores and releases energy during a suitable kinetic recovery, providing substantially more stretch than a conventional low-stretch tow rope.

Sherpa Synthetic Rope Recovery Pulley – SWRPGY
The Sherpa friction recovery pulley provides a lightweight alternative to a conventional recovery snatch block when used with compatible synthetic winch rope.
It can be incorporated into an appropriate winching system to redirect the winch rope or create a mechanical-advantage recovery configuration.

Understanding the 13,300kg Rating
The 13,300kg figure is the Minimum Breaking Strain (MBS) of the included SRR22X9 kinetic recovery rope. It is not a Working Load Limit (WLL) and should not be interpreted as the rated recovery capacity of the complete bundle.
Each component within a recovery system has its own rating and limitations. Recovery equipment should be selected and configured according to the vehicles involved, recovery conditions, recovery method, attachment points and expected loads.
Important Recovery Safety
Kinetic vehicle recovery can generate extremely high dynamic forces. Always use appropriately rated vehicle recovery points and ensure every component in the recovery system is suitable for the intended recovery.
- Never attach a kinetic recovery rope to a tow ball.
- Do not use transport tie-down points or other unrated attachment points for kinetic recovery.
- Inspect the rope and all recovery equipment before use.
- Do not use equipment showing significant wear, cuts, abrasion, cracking, deformation or other damage.
- Keep bystanders well clear of the recovery area.
- Never stand over, beside or within the line of a tensioned recovery rope.
- Use suitable recovery dampening equipment where appropriate.
- Ensure clear communication between vehicle operators before commencing the recovery.
- Do not exceed the limitations of any component within the recovery system.
Minimum Breaking Strain is not a Working Load Limit. The 13,300kg MBS of the recovery rope should not be used as a substitute for assessing the complete recovery system and recovery conditions.
