Description

The Paddock™ Electric Flex Drive Unit provides a powerful 2kW drive source for compatible flex drive submersible pumps and concrete vibrator shafts. Powered by a single-phase electric motor and fitted with a 50mm (2") heavy-duty 3-claw dog coupling, it provides a practical electric alternative to petrol and diesel flex drive units.

A protective steel roll cage surrounds the motor, while the compact electric design is well suited to construction, concrete, pumping, hire and maintenance applications where mains power is available.

Paddock™ 2kW Electric Flex Drive Unit

The Paddock™ Electric Flex Drive Unit is designed to power compatible flexible-shaft equipment including submersible flex drive pumps and concrete vibrator pokers.

The 2kW single-phase electric motor operates at approximately 2840 RPM and transfers power through a heavy-duty 50mm (2") 3-claw dog coupling.

Electric Flex Drive Features

  • 2kW single-phase electric motor
  • Approx. 2840 RPM operating speed
  • 50mm (2") heavy-duty 3-claw dog output coupling
  • Suitable for compatible flex drive submersible pumps
  • Suitable for compatible concrete vibrator shafts and pokers
  • Protective steel roll cage
  • Convenient top-mounted on/off switch
  • Electric alternative to petrol and diesel flex drive units
  • Approx. 35kg
  • 12 month warranty

2kW Electric Motor

The drive unit uses a 2kW single-phase electric motor operating at approximately 2840 RPM.

Electric drive provides a convenient option where a suitable mains power supply is available, without the fuel, exhaust gases and engine servicing requirements associated with petrol or diesel drive units.

50mm 3-Claw Dog Coupling

The drive unit is fitted with a 50mm (2") heavy-duty 3-claw dog coupling for connecting compatible flexible drive shafts.

This coupling style is commonly used with flex drive equipment; however, compatibility should be confirmed by checking the coupling type and dimensions before connecting equipment from another manufacturer.

Flex Drive Pump Applications

When connected to a compatible flexible-shaft submersible pump, the electric drive unit can provide the mechanical power required for dewatering and water transfer applications.

This type of arrangement allows the electric motor to remain outside the water while power is transmitted down the flexible shaft to the submerged pump.

Concrete Vibrator Applications

The same drive unit can also be paired with a compatible flexible-shaft concrete vibrator poker, providing a versatile drive solution for concrete placement and consolidation work.

This makes the electric drive particularly useful for contractors and hire businesses that operate multiple compatible flex drive attachments.

Electric Alternative to Engine Drive

For users already operating petrol or diesel flex drive equipment, an electric drive unit provides another power-source option where mains electricity is available.

Electric operation generally produces less local operating noise than an equivalent combustion-engine drive and produces no engine exhaust at the drive unit.

This can be useful for workshops, construction projects and other locations where electric operation is preferred. Appropriate electrical and ventilation requirements still apply to the complete work environment and connected equipment.

Protective Roll Cage

The motor is mounted within a sturdy steel roll cage that helps protect the drive unit during transport, storage and normal worksite use.

The open-frame design also provides convenient carrying and handling points while allowing airflow around the electric motor.

Typical Applications

  • Concrete contractors
  • Construction sites
  • Dewatering and water transfer
  • Hire and rental businesses
  • Builders and trades
  • Council and infrastructure maintenance
  • Agricultural applications
  • Industrial maintenance
  • Mining and resource operations

Attachment Compatibility

Before connecting a flex drive pump, concrete vibrator or other attachment, confirm that the flexible shaft and coupling are compatible with the drive unit's 50mm (2") 3-claw dog coupling and approximately 2840 RPM drive speed.

Do not assume compatibility based solely on a similar-looking coupling. Correct engagement and matching dimensions are important for safe power transmission and reliable operation.

Electrical & Operating Considerations

Use the drive unit with a suitable electrical supply and ensure extension leads, connections and electrical protection are appropriate for the motor and work environment.

When working around water or wet construction environments, electrical equipment and connections must be appropriately located and protected.

Before operation, inspect the drive unit, electrical lead, coupling, roll cage and connected flexible shaft for damage or excessive wear. Ensure the coupling is correctly engaged before starting the motor.

Keep hands, loose clothing and other objects clear of the coupling and flexible shaft while the drive unit is operating.

Drive for sub pump

Handy unit to have on hand when 240 volts is on site. Much lighter and easy to handle compared to the honda drive units and still gives decent flow.
