Description

The Paddock Industrial Air Scrubber is designed to improve indoor air quality by continuously filtering airborne dust and fine particles from work areas. Using a multi-stage filtration system with a final H13 HEPA filter, these units are well suited to construction, renovation, demolition, concrete grinding and other dusty indoor environments.

Available in two sizes with air flow rates up to 2,000 m³/hr, the Paddock air scrubber range combines strong filtration performance, low operating noise and simple 240V operation in a portable, worksite-ready package.

Improve Air Quality on Dusty Worksites

Airborne dust can quickly build up during cutting, grinding, sanding, demolition and other construction activities. An air scrubber continuously draws contaminated air through its filters and returns cleaner air to the work area.

The Paddock range is particularly useful for indoor work where dust needs to be controlled and removed from the surrounding environment.

Typical applications include:

  • Concrete grinding
  • Concrete cutting
  • Renovation work
  • Demolition
  • Gypsum and plaster dust
  • Drywall sanding
  • Construction sites
  • Workshops
  • Industrial maintenance
  • General airborne dust control

Multi-Stage Filtration System

The Paddock air scrubber uses a staged filtration design to improve filter life and overall performance.

The first-stage pre-filter captures larger dust particles before they reach the more expensive HEPA filter.

The final stage uses an H13 HEPA filter specified to achieve greater than 99.99% filtration at 0.3 micron.

This staged arrangement helps protect the HEPA filter from rapid loading while maintaining a high standard of final air filtration.

H13 HEPA Filtration

Fine particles can remain airborne for long periods and are difficult to control using ordinary fans or coarse filters.

The H13 HEPA filter provides the final filtration stage, capturing very fine airborne particulate before the air is discharged from the machine.

For best performance, filters should be inspected regularly and replaced when loaded or damaged.

Two Air Flow Modes

Both models provide two operating speeds, allowing the user to choose between lower or higher air flow depending on the work area and dust load.

The air scrubber can also be used simply to improve general air circulation when maximum filtration flow is not required.

PAS1000 - Compact Air Scrubber

The PAS1000 is the smaller and more portable model, delivering up to approximately 1,000 m³/hr / 600 CFM.

At only approximately 19kg, it is easy to move between rooms, levels and job sites. Rubber feet provide stable positioning during operation.

This model is ideal for:

  • Smaller rooms
  • Renovation work
  • Residential construction
  • Confined work areas
  • Portable trade use

PAS2000 - High Flow Industrial Air Scrubber

The larger PAS2000 delivers up to approximately 2,000 m³/hr / 1,200 CFM, making it better suited to larger work areas or applications generating higher dust loads.

The unit is mounted on non-marking lockable castor wheels, allowing it to be quickly moved around construction sites, workshops and industrial facilities.

The larger filter surface area also helps the unit maintain strong airflow under demanding operating conditions.

Filter Warning System

Indicator lamps help the operator monitor filter condition during use.

One warning lamp indicates when filter restriction has increased and the filters may require inspection or replacement.

A second warning indicator can alert the operator to an abnormal pressure condition across the filtration system, which may indicate a blocked, damaged or incorrectly installed filter.

This allows problems to be identified before air filtration performance is significantly affected.

Low Operating Noise

The use of a large diameter fan helps move substantial volumes of air without excessive operating noise.

Both models are rated at approximately 68 dB at 1m, making them suitable for use in many active work environments without adding unnecessary noise.

Optional Discharge Ducting

The filtered air outlet can be connected to flexible ducting, allowing the discharge air to be directed away from the immediate work area.

This can be useful when:

  • Creating controlled airflow through a room
  • Directing filtered air outside
  • Moving clean air into an adjacent area
  • Managing air circulation in enclosed workspaces

Flexible ducting is available as an optional extra.

Dry Air Filtration Only

These air scrubbers are designed for dry filtration applications only.

Water or excessive moisture can damage filter media and may cause the filters to lose their rated filtration performance.

If a HEPA filter becomes wet, it should be inspected and will generally require replacement before the unit is returned to normal service.

Replacement Filters

The Paddock air scrubbers use replaceable pre-filters and H13 HEPA filters.

The staged design means the lower-cost pre-filter captures much of the larger dust loading, helping extend the operating life of the HEPA filter.

Scintex stocks replacement filters and can supply them throughout Australia.

PAS1000 or PAS2000 - Which Model Should I Choose?

Choose the PAS1000 if:

  • You are working in smaller rooms or enclosed areas
  • Portability is a priority
  • You regularly move equipment between job sites
  • 1,000 m³/hr airflow is sufficient for your application

Choose the PAS2000 if:

  • You are working in larger spaces
  • Your work generates heavier dust loads
  • You need up to 2,000 m³/hr of airflow
  • Castor-wheel mobility is preferred
  • You require a larger filter surface area

Air Scrubber Placement

For effective operation, position the air scrubber where contaminated air can move freely towards the intake without being obstructed by walls, equipment or stored materials.

Where practical, placing the unit closer to the dust-generating activity can help capture airborne particles before they spread throughout the work area.

Multiple units may be required for large, divided or particularly dusty spaces.

Filter Maintenance

Regular inspection and maintenance are important to maintain airflow and filtration performance.

  • Inspect the pre-filter regularly
  • Replace heavily loaded filters
  • Monitor filter warning lamps
  • Check the HEPA filter for physical damage
  • Keep the air inlet and outlet unobstructed
  • Do not wash HEPA filter media
  • Keep water away from the filters

Filter replacement frequency will depend heavily on dust concentration, operating hours and the type of work being performed.

Important Air Quality Information

An air scrubber should form part of a broader dust-control strategy where hazardous airborne dust is present.

Source extraction, wet cutting or grinding, suitable industrial vacuums, isolation of the work area and appropriate personal protective equipment may also be required depending on the task.

Always assess workplace hazards and follow applicable work health and safety requirements for the materials being handled.
