Paddock™ Motorised Post Drivers – Honda GX35

Powered Post Driving for Fencing & Rural Work

The Paddock™ Motorised Post Driver provides a faster alternative to manually driving star pickets and fence posts with a hand rammer.

The machine uses the power of a Honda GX35 petrol engine to generate repeated impacts through the driver head, helping drive suitable posts into the ground with significantly less physical effort.

98mm & 150mm Models

Two models are available to suit different post sizes and workloads:

  • SPCOND101 – 98mm Heavy Duty: suitable for posts up to 98mm diameter, with 49mm, 69mm and 98mm sleeves included.
  • SPCOND150 – 150mm Extra Heavy Duty: suitable for posts up to 150mm diameter, with 49mm, 69mm, 98mm and 150mm sleeves included.

The larger model uses a heavier-duty impact head and gearbox to suit larger posts and more demanding use.

Genuine Honda GX35 Engine

Both models are powered by the Honda GX35 commercial 4-stroke petrol engine.

The compact GX35 is well suited to portable equipment, offering smooth operation, straightforward starting and strong parts and service support.

How the Motorised Post Driver Works

The post driver converts the engine's rotational energy into a series of repeated impacts through the power head.

Rather than relying on a single heavy manual strike, the machine delivers frequent controlled impacts to the top of the post, progressively driving it into suitable ground.

This helps reduce the physical effort associated with traditional hand-operated post rammers.

Suitable Post Types

Depending on the selected model, ground conditions and post preparation, the Paddock™ driver may be used with:

  • Star pickets
  • Round steel posts
  • Suitable timber posts
  • Fencing posts
  • Temporary and permanent fence installations

For timber posts, a properly prepared pointed end can help penetration in softer ground conditions.

Ground Conditions Matter

Post-driving performance will vary depending on soil type, moisture, compaction, buried rock and the size and shape of the post.

Soft and moderately compacted soils will generally allow easier driving than hard, rocky or heavily compacted ground.

Portable for Farm & Fencing Work

The self-contained petrol-powered design makes the post driver useful for fencing jobs in areas where mains power, compressors or hydraulic equipment are not available.

Typical applications include:

  • Farm fencing
  • Star picket installation
  • Temporary fencing
  • Permanent rural fencing
  • Steel post installation
  • Timber post installation in suitable ground
  • Acreage and property maintenance

Which Model Should I Choose?

Choose the 98mm SPCOND101 if you're primarily driving star pickets, smaller steel posts and posts up to 98mm diameter. Its lower operating weight makes it easier to handle while still providing strong impact performance.

Choose the 150mm SPCOND150 if you need to work with larger posts or want the heavier-duty gearbox and impact head for more demanding fencing work.

Pre-Start

Important: The Honda engine is shipped without operating oil. Engine oil must be added to the correct level before starting. Refer to the Honda engine manual and Paddock™ operating instructions before first use.

Always wear appropriate hearing, eye, hand and foot protection during operation. Check for underground services before driving posts and keep hands and other body parts clear of the impact head while the machine is operating.

Motorised post driver

Engine was running a little rough when first started.
The different sized adaptors are not as good as the sleeved adaptors I have scene on others

Great but needs a 50mm sleeve

This is a great price of fencing equipment the Honda motor is typically Honda reliable. The 45mm sleeve that comes with it needs replacing with a 50mm for Australian star pickets. You can use the 45mm if you know someone with a lathe. Worth the money otherwise.

Post driver to save time

I recently purchased the Paddock 100 post driver as I have a fair amount of fencing to do by myself.
I deliberated what to buy and after many comparisons the Paddock came up as the best option mainly because it uses a Honda GX motor, not a cheap imitation.
The unit was delivered quickly and unpacked then lubed up.
It is a fairly heavy well built unit. On testing out, the 60mm sleeve is a little too big for standard star posts. My solution was to put the 45mm sleeve in the lathe and skim out to the correct size; not much of an issue.
The unit works extremely well and had no trouble in driving posts into very hard ridge gravel country.
It is heavy at 20kg and I found I needed a safety step to start driving the post.
All in all, highly recommended as it safes an awful lot of time and effort driving posts the old way with a 14lb hammer or hand driver.
