Description
Paddock™ Honda Water Transfer Pumps combine commercial Honda GX160 petrol engines with heavy-duty water transfer pumps for high-volume water-moving applications.
Available in 2" and 3" models, these pumps are suited to applications including transferring water from dams and tanks, livestock water transfer, construction sites, dewatering and general property maintenance.

Honda Engine Driven Water Transfer Pumps
- 2" and 3" pump options
- Honda GX160 4-stroke petrol engine
- High-volume clean-water transfer
- Maximum flow up to 60,000L/hr / 1,000L/min
- Maximum stated discharge head: 30m
- Maximum stated suction lift: 7m
- Heavy-duty steel roll-over frame
- Rotatable pump outlet to assist installation
- Recoil start
Paddock™ Honda Water Transfer Pumps
These Paddock pumps are designed primarily for high-volume water transfer. They are ideal where moving larger volumes of relatively clean water is more important than producing the higher discharge pressures associated with dedicated high-pressure pumps.
Typical Applications
- Transferring water between tanks
- Drawing water from dams and pits
- Livestock water transfer
- Pool draining
- Construction site dewatering
- Floodwater removal
- Property and agricultural water transfer
2" Water Transfer Pump
The 2" / 50mm model delivers a stated maximum flow of 27,000L/hr / 450L/min with a maximum stated discharge head of 30m.
Its smaller hose connections make it a practical general-purpose option where the maximum flow of the larger 3" model isn't required.
3" High-Flow Water Transfer Pump
The larger 3" / 75mm model provides a stated maximum flow of 60,000L/hr / 1,000L/min, making it well suited to applications where large volumes of water need to be moved quickly.
It also has a maximum stated discharge head of 30m.
Maximum Flow vs Maximum Head
Maximum flow and maximum discharge head occur at different operating points and should not be expected simultaneously.
Actual flow will depend on factors including suction lift, discharge elevation, hose diameter and length, fittings, restrictions and the complete installation.
Suction & Priming
Both models have a stated maximum suction lift of 7m under suitable operating conditions.
For reliable suction performance, use correctly sized suction hose that is designed to resist collapse under vacuum. All suction-side fittings and connections should be airtight, and a suitable suction strainer or foot valve should be used where appropriate.
The pump casing must be primed with water before starting. Fill the casing through the priming port, securely refit the plug and then start the engine according to the operating instructions.
Actual achievable suction lift can be affected by water temperature, elevation above sea level, suction hose losses, air leaks and other installation conditions.
Honda GX160 Petrol Engine
Both pump sizes are powered by the Honda GX160 commercial-series 4-stroke petrol engine.
The GX160 features recoil starting and a 3.1L fuel tank and is widely used in commercial and industrial equipment.

Heavy-Duty Pump Construction
The pump incorporates an aluminium pump casing, cast iron impeller and NBR seals. A steel roll-over frame provides protection around the pump and engine while also assisting with handling and transport.
The pump outlet can be rotated to help orient the discharge connection to suit the installation.

Water Transfer Pump Selection
These models are intended for relatively clean water transfer. Where water contains significant mud, gravel, leaves, solids or other debris, select a pump specifically designed for dirty-water or trash-pump applications.
When selecting between the two models, consider the required flow rate together with suction lift, discharge head, hose length and hose diameter. Correctly sized hose and fittings help minimise system losses and maximise available pump performance.
Operating Considerations
Always prime the pump casing before starting and avoid operating the pump dry. Use a suitable suction strainer to help prevent debris entering the pump.
Petrol engines produce carbon monoxide and must only be operated outdoors or in appropriately ventilated locations in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
