Description

The GESPASA Pneumatic Lubricant Drum Pump range provides an air-powered solution for transferring lubricating oils and antifreeze from drums in workshops, service facilities and industrial applications. Available in 3:1 and 5:1 pressure ratio versions, the pumps can be matched to different oil viscosities and delivery requirements.

Both models feature a 940mm drum-length suction tube and are supplied as a dispensing kit with pressure regulator, 3m delivery hose, manual lubricant nozzle and drum bung adaptor.

GESPASA Pneumatic Oil & Lubricant Drum Pumps

Designed for drum-mounted lubricant dispensing, these GESPASA air-operated pumps use compressed air to transfer oil and compatible fluids through a dispensing hose and nozzle.

Choose between the GM-3 3:1 model for low-to-medium viscosity lubricants and the GM-5 5:1 model for medium-to-high viscosity oils and applications requiring greater pressure capability.

Pneumatic Lubricant Pump Features

  • Air-powered lubricant drum pump

GM-3 – 3:1 Lubricant Pump

The GESPASA GM-3 uses a 3:1 pressure ratio and is designed primarily for low-to-medium viscosity lubricants.

The supplied specification nominates oils up to approximately SAE 15W-50 and a maximum stated delivery capacity of 25 L/min.

It is also specified for compatible antifreeze applications over shorter-to-medium delivery distances, with the supplied information indicating approximately 40–50m under suitable operating conditions.

GM-5 – 5:1 Lubricant Pump

The GESPASA GM-5 provides a higher 5:1 pressure ratio, making it better suited to medium-to-high viscosity lubricants and applications involving greater delivery resistance.

The supplied specification nominates oils up to approximately SAE 15W-140 and a maximum stated delivery capacity of 28 L/min.

For compatible antifreeze applications, the supplied information indicates delivery distances of approximately 150–200m under suitable conditions.

Understanding 3:1 & 5:1 Pump Ratios

The pump ratio describes the relationship between the supplied compressed-air pressure and the pressure generated on the fluid side of the pump.

A higher ratio is useful where additional fluid pressure is required to overcome factors such as:

  • Higher oil viscosity
  • Longer delivery hoses
  • Smaller hose or fitting restrictions
  • Dispensing equipment resistance
  • Cold lubricant temperatures

The higher ratio does not necessarily mean a higher flow rate in every installation. Actual dispensing performance depends on the complete system.

Complete Drum Dispensing Kit

Both models are supplied with the components required for a typical drum-mounted lubricant dispensing setup:

  • Pneumatic lubricant pump
  • Pressure regulator
  • 3m R1 1/2" delivery hose with adaptors
  • Manual lubricant dispensing nozzle
  • Drum bung adaptor

Workshop & Industrial Applications

Pneumatic lubricant pumps are particularly useful in workshops and industrial facilities where compressed air is already available.

Typical applications include:

  • Automotive workshops
  • Truck and heavy vehicle workshops
  • Earthmoving and machinery servicing
  • Agricultural workshops
  • Fleet maintenance facilities
  • Industrial maintenance
  • Lubricant dispensing from drums
  • Compatible antifreeze and coolant transfer

Flow Rate & Delivery Performance

The stated delivery capacities are up to 25 L/min for the GM-3 and up to 28 L/min for the GM-5.

Actual flow and achievable delivery distance will vary depending on:

  • Available air pressure and volume
  • Fluid viscosity
  • Fluid temperature
  • Hose diameter and length
  • Fittings and restrictions
  • Dispensing nozzle
  • Installation configuration

Cold oil can be substantially more viscous than warm oil, so lubricant temperature can have a significant effect on dispensing performance.

Choosing Between the GM-3 & GM-5

Choose the GM-3 for lower-to-medium viscosity lubricants and applications where extremely high delivery pressure is not required.

Choose the GM-5 for thicker lubricants, longer delivery systems or installations with greater flow resistance.

Oil grade alone does not determine pump performance. Fluid temperature, hose length, pipe diameter and the complete dispensing system should also be considered when selecting a pump.

Compressed Air Requirements

Ensure the workshop compressor can provide sufficient airflow as well as pressure. The GM-3 has a stated air consumption of approximately 200 L/min, while the GM-5 requires approximately 250 L/min.

Use clean, appropriately regulated compressed air and operate the pump within its specified working pressure range.

Fluid Compatibility

These pumps are specified for compatible lubricating oils and antifreeze. Before transferring other fluids, confirm compatibility with all pump wetted components, hoses, seals, fittings and dispensing equipment.

Gespasa wall kit pump

Have recently acquired the wall kit version of this pump. We've never had issues with Gespasa equipment and this pump should be the same. Build quality is immaculate. Very easy to install and operate.
