316 Stainless Steel Hose Tail / Hose Barb Fittings – Male BSP
Description
316 Stainless Steel Hose Tail / Hose Barb Fittings provide a simple connection between flexible hose and equipment with a compatible female BSP threaded port.
Ideal for pumps, filters, flow meters, centrifuges, heat exchangers and other fluid-transfer equipment, these fittings feature a male BSP thread on one end and a hose tail / hose barb on the other.
316 Stainless Steel Male BSP Hose Tail Fittings
These hose tails are manufactured from 316 stainless steel for durable use across a wide range of compatible fluid-transfer applications.
The male BSP threaded end screws into a compatible female BSP port, while flexible hose is fitted over the barbed end and secured using an appropriately sized hose clamp.
Key Features
- 316 stainless steel construction
- Male BSP threaded connection
- Hose tail / hose barb connection
- Standard and reducing hose tail options
- Suitable for connecting compatible flexible hose to threaded equipment
- Useful with pumps, filters, flow meters, centrifuges, heat exchangers and other fluid-transfer equipment
Understanding Hose Tail Sizes
Sizes are listed in the following format:
Male BSP Thread × Hose Tail Size
For example:
1" × 3/4" = 1" Male BSP thread with a 3/4" hose tail.
The 3/4" hose tail is designed to suit compatible hose with an approximate 3/4" / 19mm internal diameter.
Reducing Hose Tails
The BSP thread and hose tail do not need to be the same nominal size. Reducing configurations allow equipment with a larger threaded port to be connected to smaller diameter hose where appropriate for the application.
For example, a 1" BSP × 3/4" hose tail allows a compatible 1" female BSP port to connect to approximately 19mm ID hose.
Typical Applications
- Water transfer pumps
- Fuel and oil transfer equipment where materials are compatible
- Filters and strainers
- Flow meters
- Centrifuges
- Heat exchangers
- Tanks and fluid-transfer systems
Installation
Confirm both the BSP thread size and hose internal diameter before selecting a fitting.
Push the correctly sized hose fully over the hose tail and secure it using an appropriate hose clamp. Use a suitable thread sealing method on the BSP connection where required by the application.
Always ensure the fitting, hose, clamps and sealing materials are compatible with the fluid, temperature and operating pressure of the complete system.
