Description
The Paddock™ Tractor PTO Stump Grinder is a heavy-duty three-point linkage implement designed to harness your tractor's PTO power for efficient stump removal. Suited to compatible Category I and II tractors from 30–50HP, it features a 600mm grinding rotor, hydraulic side-to-side swing and replaceable carbide cutting teeth.
Paddock™ Tractor PTO Stump Grinder
Designed for farmers, acreage owners, contractors and property maintenance applications, the Paddock™ PTO Stump Grinder connects to the tractor's three-point linkage and uses a 540 RPM PTO input to drive the heavy-duty grinding rotor.
The grinder also connects to the tractor's rear hydraulic system to provide controlled side-to-side sweeping across the stump. Cutting height is controlled through the tractor's three-point linkage, allowing the operator to progressively grind the stump layer by layer and continue below ground level.

Hydraulic Side-to-Side Grinding
The stump grinder connects to the tractor's rear hydraulic outlets, allowing the grinding head to sweep from side to side in a controlled motion.
This hydraulic swing allows the operator to progressively work across the stump without repeatedly repositioning the tractor. The grinder has a stated 40° swing arc and provides approximately 660mm of horizontal cutting coverage.
For wider stumps, the tractor can be repositioned as required to continue the grinding process.
600mm Grinding Rotor
The heavy-duty 600mm rotor is fitted with 54 bolt-on carbide cutting teeth designed to progressively chip and grind stump material as the rotor sweeps across the working area.
The bolt-on tooth design allows individual cutting teeth to be inspected and replaced as they become worn or damaged.
540 RPM PTO Drive
The stump grinder is designed to operate from a 540 RPM tractor PTO. The heavy-duty gearbox increases the grinding rotor speed to approximately 950 RPM for stump grinding operation.
A PTO shaft is included with the implement.
Above & Below Ground Grinding
Using the tractor's three-point linkage, the grinder can be raised to provide approximately 450mm of cutting height above ground level and progressively lowered to grind approximately 200mm below ground level.
This allows the remaining stump to be reduced below the surrounding surface so the area can subsequently be backfilled and levelled as required.
Layer-by-Layer Stump Grinding
Stumps are best approached progressively using a controlled side-to-side sweeping action. Rather than attempting to remove excessive material in a single pass, the grinder can be lowered incrementally as each layer is removed.
The maximum stated layer cut is up to 150mm per pass; however, the appropriate depth will depend on timber hardness, stump condition, tractor power and operating conditions. Shallower passes may provide smoother operation in particularly hard timber.

Tractor Compatibility
The stump grinder is designed for compatible Category I and II tractors in the 30–50HP range. The tractor requires a 540 RPM PTO and rear hydraulic connections to operate the side-to-side swing function.
Before installation, confirm the tractor has suitable three-point linkage geometry, PTO configuration, hydraulic connections and sufficient rear implement capacity for the approximately 280kg grinder. Tractor stability and ballast requirements should also be considered.
Important Operating Information
Stump grinding can eject wood chips, stones and other debris at high speed. Keep all bystanders well clear of the operating area and use appropriate operator protection and PPE.
Before grinding, inspect the work area and remove loose rocks, wire, metal and other foreign objects where possible. Identify underground services before grinding below ground level.
Always read and understand the supplied operating instructions before use. Ensure the tractor is correctly positioned and stable, and operate the grinder using controlled, progressive passes.
Gearbox oil: The gearbox is stored and transported with only enough oil for transport and corrosion protection. Check and fill the gearbox with the specified lubricant to the correct level before operation.
Some assembly may be required due to shipping and transport requirements.
