Flexible Impeller Water Pump
Description
High quality 12V and 24V flexible impeller water pumps designed for marine, vehicle and general water transfer applications. With a maximum free-flow rate of approximately 25 L/min, self-priming capability and a compact bronze pump head, these pumps are ideal for bilge, washdown, grey water and coolant circulation applications.
12V & 24V Flexible Impeller Water Pump
These compact DC water pumps use a flexible impeller design to provide smooth, reliable water transfer with fewer moving parts than many conventional pump types.
The flexible impeller provides greater tolerance of small suspended debris than some conventional centrifugal pump designs, making the pump well suited to applications such as bilge pumping, shower drainage, washdown systems and general water transfer.
The pump is available in both 12V and 24V versions and can deliver up to approximately 25 L/min at free flow, with around 23 L/min available at a 3m discharge head.
Flexible Impeller Pump Features
- 12V or 24V DC options
- Maximum free flow of approximately 25 L/min
- Approximately 23 L/min at 3m discharge head
- Self-primes up to approximately 1.2m vertical lift
- Maximum discharge pressure approximately 100kPa / 1 bar / 15 PSI
- Flexible impeller provides tolerance of small suspended debris
- Bronze pump casing
- Suitable for marine and vehicle water transfer applications
- Ignition protected for marine installations
- 12 month warranty
Marine & Vehicle Applications
The pump is suited to a range of water transfer and circulation applications including:
- Marine bilge pumping
- Boat and vehicle washdown systems
- Shower and grey water drainage
- Camping and mobile-home water transfer
- Coolant circulation
- General fresh-water transfer
The pump is not intended for sewage transfer and should not be used with petrol, gasoline, solvents, thinners or highly concentrated organic acids.
Self-Priming Flexible Impeller Design
The flexible impeller design allows the pump to self-prime from up to approximately 1.2m vertical lift. This makes installation more flexible where the pump must be mounted above the fluid level.
The pump is a positive-displacement type and should not be operated against a closed nozzle or blocked discharge. Doing so can increase motor load and may damage the pump.
Dry Running
Flexible impeller pumps rely on the pumped liquid for lubrication and cooling. The pump should not be allowed to run dry for more than approximately 30 seconds, as extended dry operation can damage the rubber impeller.
12V & 24V Electrical Options
Both voltage versions use the same pump design and performance specifications, with the primary electrical difference being current draw.
- 12V model: approximately 14A nominal current draw
- 24V model: approximately 7A nominal current draw
The brushed motor has an approximate service life of 2,800 operating hours under suitable conditions.
Marine Compliance
The pump is designed for marine applications and complies with the following standards:
- USCG 183.410
- ISO 8846 Marine - Ignition Protection
- ISO 8849 Marine - Bilge Pump Standard
ISO 8846 compliance allows the pump to be described as ignition protected for suitable marine installations.
