Engine Fuel Consumption Gauge & Fuel Flow Display – NMEA 2000
Description
The Engine Fuel Consumption Gauge & Fuel Flow Display is a versatile fuel management instrument designed to monitor engine fuel consumption, fuel flow, tank levels, remaining fuel and other fuel system information.
Suitable for boats, yachts, generators, agricultural machinery, tractors, trucks and other engine-powered equipment, the display can accept inputs from one or two fuel flow senders, fuel level senders and a fuel pressure sender. It also supports GPS input and NMEA 2000 marine CAN bus connectivity for compatible marine installations.
Engine Fuel Consumption Gauge & Fuel Flow Display
This compact digital fuel manager provides a central display for monitoring fuel use and related engine information. It can be configured for simple single-flow applications or more advanced installations using supply and return flow meters.
For diesel engines with a fuel return line, two compatible flow senders can be used to measure fuel supplied to the engine and fuel returned to the tank. The display calculates the difference to determine actual engine fuel consumption.
Note: Fuel flow meters and external senders are not included unless specifically stated with the selected product configuration.

Fuel Consumption Monitoring
The primary function of the instrument is to calculate and display engine fuel consumption. With a compatible fuel flow sender installed, consumption can be displayed in units such as litres per hour.
On engines with a fuel return line, two compatible flow senders can be connected. The instrument measures the fuel supplied to the engine and subtracts the return flow to calculate actual consumption.
The unit can also be configured to derive fuel consumption from compatible fuel injector signals where appropriate.
Fuel Tank Level & Remaining Fuel
The display can monitor fuel level in up to two tanks when connected to compatible fuel level senders.
For irregularly shaped tanks, a multi-point calibration system with up to 6 calibration points can be used to improve the relationship between sender position and displayed fuel volume.
Where a fuel level sender is not installed, the tank capacity can be entered manually and the instrument can calculate estimated remaining fuel based on measured consumption.
Range & GPS Functions
Range calculations can be made using fuel consumption, remaining fuel and travel speed.
A compatible NMEA-enabled RS232 GPS receiver can be connected so the instrument can use GPS speed data when calculating fuel economy and estimated range.
Supported consumption units include litres per hour and distance-based measurements, with additional units available through the instrument menu.
NMEA 2000 Marine Integration
The fuel manager supports NMEA 2000 marine CAN bus connectivity, allowing compatible fuel information to be shared with supported marine chartplotters and multifunction displays.
This can allow the fuel manager itself to be mounted away from the primary helm display where the connected marine electronics support the required data.
1.8" Sunlight-Readable Colour Display
The instrument uses a 1.8" 160 x 128 pixel active-matrix TFT colour display with a stated brightness of 1000cd/m². The display incorporates an anti-glare coating and adjustable LED backlighting for use in varying light conditions.
The enclosure uses a common approximately 52mm round instrument format and can be front or rear mounted.
The front display face is sealed for marine use. The rear cable-entry area should be protected from direct water spray and installed within an appropriate console or dashboard.
Programmable Alarm Output
A programmable open-collector alarm output can be used to trigger compatible external equipment when configured fuel conditions are reached.
The alarm output is a transistor switch to ground with a maximum stated rating of 0.5A.
Installation & User Manual
Installation requirements will vary according to the number and type of senders being connected. Electrical connections should be made securely and in accordance with the supplied wiring instructions.

Compatibility
This instrument supports a broad range of sender configurations, but compatibility depends on the electrical output and signal characteristics of the individual flow meter, tank sender, pressure sender, GPS receiver or NMEA 2000 equipment being connected.
Check the specifications of existing senders and connected equipment against the fuel manager requirements before installation.
