Description

The Paddock 40 Tonne Hydraulic Log Splitter combines serious splitting force with a genuine Briggs & Stratton commercial petrol engine. Designed for farms, acreages and property maintenance, this heavy duty splitter operates in both horizontal and vertical positions, making it easier to process everything from manageable firewood through to large, heavy logs.

Powered by a 13.5HP Briggs & Stratton XR2100 420cc engine and a high-flow 2-stage hydraulic pump, the Paddock log splitter delivers up to 40 tonnes of splitting force with a full cycle time of approximately 13 seconds.

40 Tonne Hydraulic Splitting Force

Splitting Australian hardwood can demand serious force, particularly when working with large, seasoned or irregular logs. The Paddock hydraulic log splitter is capable of producing up to 40 tonnes of splitting force, providing substantial capacity for demanding firewood preparation.

The hardened steel wedge concentrates the hydraulic force into the timber, reducing the physical effort and time required compared with manually splitting large quantities of firewood.

Horizontal & Vertical Log Splitting

The splitter can be operated in either a horizontal or vertical position, allowing the setup to be matched to the size and weight of the timber being processed.

Horizontal operation is convenient for logs which can be comfortably lifted onto the splitting beam. Timber can be loaded from one side and the split pieces removed from the other, providing an efficient workflow when processing larger quantities.

For heavier logs, the beam can be moved into the vertical position. This allows large timber rounds to be rolled into position at ground level rather than lifted onto the machine.

Briggs & Stratton Commercial Engine

The Paddock splitter is powered by a genuine Briggs & Stratton XR2100 420cc commercial 4-stroke petrol engine.

The 13.5HP engine provides reliable power for the hydraulic system and features simple recoil starting, eliminating the need to maintain or charge a starter battery.

High-Flow 2-Stage Hydraulic System

A 2-stage 65 L/min hydraulic pump combines fast ram movement under lighter loads with high hydraulic pressure when greater splitting force is required.

The system provides a full cycle time of approximately 13 seconds. In normal operation the ram may not need to complete its entire stroke for every log, allowing experienced operators to process timber efficiently.

Operation is controlled using a simple hydraulic lever. The operator can extend, stop and retract the ram as required, providing direct control throughout the splitting process.

Heavy Duty Construction

The Paddock log splitter is built around large steel sections designed to withstand the forces generated during splitting. High-load areas incorporate additional reinforcement and gusseting, while a hardened steel wedge provides a durable splitting surface.

At approximately 308kg, this is a substantial machine designed for repeated property and firewood processing applications.

Easy Movement Around the Property

The splitter is mounted on a sturdy chassis with a drawbar, 50mm tow ball hitch and 16" pneumatic tyres, making it convenient to move around farms, acreages and private properties using a suitable vehicle.

An integrated jockey wheel supports the splitter when disconnected and makes positioning and storage easier.

Important: The towing arrangement is intended for moving the splitter around suitable private properties and work areas. Do not assume the unit is suitable for public-road towing unless all applicable registration, lighting, braking and roadworthiness requirements have been confirmed.

Suitable Timber

With up to 40 tonnes of splitting force, the Paddock splitter is designed for demanding firewood applications and can process a broad range of Australian hardwoods and other suitable timber. Actual splitting performance will vary with log diameter, moisture content, grain direction, knots and timber species.

Examples of timber commonly processed for firewood include:

  • Box varieties
  • Stringybark varieties
  • Blue, Grey, Spotted, Yellow and Red Gum varieties
  • Ironbark
  • Carbeen
  • Calophyllum
  • Damson
  • Kwila
  • Maple
  • Tasmanian Oak
  • Turpentine

Before First Use

Engine Oil: Engines are transported with only sufficient oil for storage and protection. The engine oil level must be checked and the correct engine oil added as required before starting.

Assembly: Minor assembly is required before operation. Ensure all fasteners, hydraulic connections and safety components are correctly installed and checked before use.

Safety: Log splitting involves significant hydraulic force. Read the operating instructions before use, keep hands and body clear of the splitting area, wear appropriate PPE and never allow bystanders within the immediate operating area.

Firewood splitting made easy

The Paddock 40Ton log splitter makes splitting firewood easy, quickly splitting straight grained hardwood and on knotted wood the second stage pump takes over to split through the crossgrain. The whole thing is very robust and well designed.

The best splitter.

It is a great splitter,I have not had a block of wood that it could not split.

Awsome

I had a 6x6 woodshed full of large diameter logs to split and the machine handled with ease. i cleared it in half a day. The only thing i would add to this machine is an pressure relief oil catcher where off the hydraulic oil cap is.
