Fast Livestock RFID Tag Scanning
The Scintex RFID reader is designed to make electronic livestock identification quick and straightforward.
Simply position the reader near a compatible tag and press the scan button. When a tag is successfully read, the unit provides visual and audible confirmation and displays the identification number on the backlit LCD screen.
The reader is suitable for cattle yards, feedlots, farms, livestock transport operations and other situations where animals need to be individually identified and recorded.
NLIS Compatible Reader
The reader is designed for use with compatible NLIS electronic livestock identification tags, allowing electronic animal IDs to be scanned without manually recording tag numbers.
It can also be used with compatible RFID bolus tags, making it suitable for a variety of livestock identification applications.
Store Thousands of Animal Records
The internal memory can store thousands of scans, allowing users to work through large groups of livestock without needing a computer connected during operation.
Each scan can include:
- Electronic tag identification number
- Date
- Time
Records can then be downloaded after the scanning session for further processing, record keeping or spreadsheet analysis.
USB Data Download
The reader connects to a Windows computer using the supplied USB cable.
Scintex software allows stored records to be transferred from the reader and exported for use with spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel.
This provides a simple method of moving animal identification records from the yards into your livestock management or record-keeping workflow.
Duplicate Tag Detection
The reader includes duplicate search functionality and can be configured to help prevent duplicate tag records being entered during the same scanning session.
This is particularly useful when scanning large mobs where the same animal may accidentally move past the operator more than once.
Easy-to-Read Backlit Display
A built-in LCD screen allows tag information to be viewed directly on the reader without requiring a computer.
The display is backlit, making the reader practical in sheds, yards and lower-light conditions as well as during night operations.
Simple Three-Button Operation
The sealed three-button keypad provides access to the reader's main functions without unnecessary complexity.
Functions include:
- RFID scanning
- Menu navigation
- Viewing stored records
- Deleting the last ID
- Erasing stored data
- Duplicate searching
- Date and time functions
Built for Farm & Feedlot Use
The reader has been designed for livestock handling environments where equipment may be exposed to dust, dirt, vibration and regular field use.
At approximately 550g, the reader remains light enough for extended scanning sessions while its 740mm length provides useful reach when reading tags around cattle yards and crushes.
Battery Powered
The reader operates from 4 x AA batteries, allowing batteries to be replaced quickly without waiting for an internal battery to recharge.
Batteries are not included as standard. A rechargeable battery kit can be supplied separately if required.
