Start with the equipment or fitting brand, model, connection size and the dimensions of the original component. Compare thread type, seal profile, material and pressure or temperature rating rather than relying on appearance alone. Where available, use the product manual or exploded-parts diagram, as similar valves, washers and fittings can differ by only a few millimetres.
Common service items include O-rings, washers, gaskets, valve cartridges, diaphragms, check valves, strainers, seals and hose fittings. Wear is accelerated by heat, pressure cycling, abrasive particles, chemical exposure and incorrect assembly. Replacing a small worn component promptly can prevent leakage and secondary damage to pumps, tanks or connected equipment.
Seal material must suit the liquid, operating temperature and pressure. Nitrile, EPDM, Viton-type fluoroelastomers and PTFE each have different resistance to water, oils, fuels and chemicals. Do not substitute solely by size or colour; confirm material compatibility with the application and use the specification stated for the original component where possible.
Reusing compressed, hardened, swollen, cut or flattened seals is not recommended because they may no longer provide a reliable seal. Replace low-cost sealing components whenever a joint is dismantled, clean the mating surfaces and install the new seal without twisting or pinching it. Thread tape and liquid sealant should also be renewed where the connection requires them.
Engage a suitably licensed plumber or other qualified person where required by local regulations, particularly for fixed potable-water, sanitary, gas, hot-water or building plumbing. Product replacement on pumps, tanks and portable equipment may be straightforward, but the installer remains responsible for correct isolation, pressure relief, leak testing and regulatory compliance.

Great pump . Indestructible

Highly recommended .We have a few of these as we are a oil manufacturer . These pumps are very good and reliable. I have had nuts , bolts and rocks go through them and they keep on working as the viens and gears are all steel . No plastic that can shatter .Only had to replace a mechanical seal on them once which I was able to get from Scintex . Takes about 7 minutes to transfer 200 liters of gear oil through a 25 mm hose .
