The supplied 10m strap can be shortened where less length is required for your boat and trailer setup.
Keeping unnecessary layers of webbing off the winch drum can improve effective pulling force. As additional layers build up on the drum, the effective drum diameter increases and the available pulling force reduces.
Only shorten the strap if sufficient length will remain for safe operation throughout the full loading and unloading range of your trailer.
