Description

The Paddock™ Drum Drain Cleaner is a heavy-duty electric drain cleaning machine designed for plumbers, maintenance contractors and facility managers clearing blockages in 32–100mm pipes. Supplied with 30m of 12.7mm (1/2") drain cleaning cable, automatic cable feed and four interchangeable cutting tools, it provides a compact solution for residential and commercial drain maintenance.

A 240V electric motor drives the cable at speeds up to 250 RPM, while the enclosed drum keeps the 30m cable contained for easier transport, operation and storage.

Paddock™ 30m Drum Drain Cleaner

Designed for clearing blocked drains and pipework, the Paddock™ Drum Drain Cleaner combines a 30m cable capacity, powered cable rotation and automatic feed in a mobile drum-style machine.

It is suited to pipes from approximately 32mm to 100mm diameter and can be used for common plumbing and maintenance applications in bathrooms, kitchens, laundries and other compatible drainage systems.

30m × 12.7mm Drain Cleaning Cable

The machine is supplied standard with 30m of 12.7mm (1/2") drain cleaning cable, providing the reach required to access blockages further into compatible drainage systems.

The enclosed drum stores the cable within the machine, helping keep the cable organised during transport and storage.

The machine is also stated as compatible with 10mm (3/8") cable for applications where an alternative cable size is required.

Automatic Cable Feed

An automatic feed mechanism advances and retrieves the drain cleaning cable at speeds up to approximately 5m/min.

This reduces the amount of manual cable handling required when feeding the cable through a drain and retrieving it after the blockage has been cleared.

Up to 250 RPM

The 240V electric drive rotates the drain cleaning cable at speeds up to 250 RPM, allowing the selected cutting or clearing tool to work through compatible drain obstructions.

Actual clearing performance depends on the type and severity of the blockage, pipe diameter, pipe condition, bends, cable selection and cutting tool being used.

Four Drain Cleaning Tools Included

The machine is supplied with four 16mm drain cleaning tools for tackling different types of obstruction:

• Bulb Auger – general-purpose exploration and clearing of compatible obstructions
• Retrieving Auger – assists with retrieving suitable loose material from the pipe
• Grease Cutter – suited to compatible soft deposits and grease build-up
• Saw-Tooth Cutter – for more difficult compatible obstructions requiring a cutting action

Select the cutting tool according to the blockage, pipe material, pipe diameter and condition of the drainage system.

Clutch, Brake & Foot Control

The Paddock™ Drum Drain Cleaner incorporates a single-lever clutch and brake control together with an air-operated foot switch, allowing the operator to control the machine while working with the cable.

Enclosed Drum Design

The drum-style design keeps the coiled cable contained within the machine rather than leaving the full cable exposed during transport and storage.

This provides a compact setup for plumbers and maintenance contractors who regularly move equipment between job sites.

Solid Transport Wheels

Solid wheels make the approximately 80kg loaded machine easier to move around workshops, buildings and job sites without the maintenance requirements associated with pneumatic tyres.

Appropriate manual handling techniques should be used when moving the machine, particularly on stairs or uneven surfaces.

Paddock™ Drum Drain Cleaner Specifications

Pipe & Cable Compatibility

The machine is recommended for 32–100mm diameter pipes with runs up to approximately 30m. Suitability for a particular drain will depend on pipe diameter, bends, access points, pipe condition, cable size and the nature of the blockage.

The supplied specifications also state compatibility with Ridgid and Rothenberger style cable connectors. Confirm the connector dimensions and compatibility before combining components from different systems.

Drain Cleaning Safety

Before operation, identify the pipe route and consider the condition and material of the drainage system. Older, damaged or fragile pipework may not be suitable for aggressive mechanical cleaning.

Use the correct cable and cutting tool for the pipe and blockage. Do not force the cable if it becomes caught or stops progressing, as excessive loading can damage the cable, tool or pipework.

Inspect the cable, connectors and cutting tools before use and replace damaged, heavily corroded, kinked or excessively worn components.

Follow appropriate electrical safety and hygiene procedures when operating powered equipment around drains and wastewater, and use suitable personal protective equipment.
