The Tsurumi UT Series Submersible Sewage Pumps are heavy-duty cast iron vortex pumps designed for septic tanks, wastewater systems and other applications involving water containing suspended solids and fibrous material. Available in manual and automatic models, the range handles solids up to 35mm and delivers maximum flow rates up to 440 L/min.
The vortex impeller design helps reduce direct contact between solids and the impeller, providing reliable wastewater transfer with a reduced likelihood of clogging compared with conventional impeller arrangements.

Vortex Impeller for Wastewater Applications
The UT Series uses a vortex impeller to create a swirling flow through the pump casing. This arrangement allows much of the pumped material to pass through the casing without travelling directly through the impeller.
The design is particularly useful when pumping wastewater containing suspended solids and fibrous material, helping reduce the likelihood of material becoming caught around the impeller.
The pumps have a maximum solids handling capacity of 35mm.

Selecting the Correct Pump
The 0.4kW models provide up to 270 L/min at a maximum head of 9m, while the larger 0.75kW models provide up to 440 L/min with a maximum head of 12.5m.
Maximum flow and maximum head occur at different operating points. Actual flow will depend on the vertical lift, pipe diameter and length, fittings, valves and other restrictions within the wastewater system.
When replacing an existing septic pump, compare the required flow, operating head, discharge connection, solids handling and control arrangement rather than selecting on motor power alone.
