240V Diesel Transfer Pump
Description
The 240V Diesel Transfer Pump is a heavy duty, continuous-duty vane pump designed for fast transfer of diesel and compatible light oils. Available in 57 L/min and 80 L/min versions, these pumps are ideal for workshops, farms, depots, fuel storage systems and other applications where reliable mains-powered fuel transfer is required.
Both models feature self-priming operation, an internal bypass valve, IP55 motor protection and convenient 1" BSP female inlet and outlet ports for easy integration into common hose and fitting systems.

Fast Diesel Transfer
These pumps are designed for applications where diesel needs to be moved quickly and reliably from tanks, drums or storage systems.
Choose between:
- 57 L/min model - suitable for general-purpose fuel transfer and refuelling
- 80 L/min model - suited to higher-volume transfer where faster filling is required
Actual delivered flow will depend on suction lift, hose length, hose diameter, filters, flow meters, nozzles and other system restrictions.
Continuous-Duty Operation
Both models are rated for continuous-duty operation, making them better suited to longer transfer jobs than pumps with short intermittent duty cycles.
This makes them particularly useful for:
- Bulk diesel transfer
- Workshop fuel systems
- Farm fuel storage
- Machinery refuelling
- Generator fuel systems
- Industrial transfer applications
- Tank-to-tank transfer
Self-Priming Vane Pump
The vane pump design provides good self-priming capability and smooth fuel transfer.
Both models are rated for a suction lift of approximately 2.5m.
For best performance, keep the suction hose as short as practical and ensure all suction-side fittings are airtight.
Internal Bypass Valve
An internal bypass valve is incorporated into the pump body.
This allows fuel to recirculate internally for short periods if the discharge is temporarily closed, such as when a dispensing nozzle is shut while the pump is still operating.
Do not leave the pump operating in bypass for extended periods. Continued recirculation can increase fuel and pump temperature and may reduce seal and component life.
IP55 Continuous-Duty Motor
Both versions use a single-phase asynchronous motor with an IP55 protection rating.
The motors are self-ventilated and designed for continuous operation within the pump's rated operating conditions.
Common 1" BSP Connections
The pump uses 1" BSP female inlet and outlet ports, making it easy to connect to a wide range of commonly available fuel hose fittings, valves and adapters.
Scintex can supply suitable hose and fittings to complete your installation.
Compatible Fluids
These pumps are intended for compatible low-viscosity fluids including:
- Diesel
- Compatible light oils
- Low-viscosity lubricants where material compatibility is confirmed
Not suitable for petrol / gasoline.
Not suitable for heavy oils such as engine or motor oil. For higher-viscosity oils, a dedicated gear or lubricant pump should be selected instead.

57 L/min or 80 L/min - Which Pump Should I Choose?
Choose the 57 L/min model if:
- You need a reliable general-purpose diesel transfer pump
- Your hose, filter and nozzle system is moderately sized
- You do not require the fastest possible tank filling
Choose the 80 L/min model if:
- You regularly refuel larger tanks or machinery
- You want faster bulk diesel transfer
- Your hose, filter and nozzle system can accommodate the higher flow rate
Installation Tips
To achieve the best possible flow rate:
- Mount the pump as close to the fuel source as practical
- Keep suction hose short
- Use adequately sized fuel hose
- Ensure suction connections are airtight
- Minimise unnecessary elbows and restrictive fittings
- Use filters and flow meters rated for the required flow
- Use a suitable fuel strainer where contamination may be present
Important Operating Notes
Diesel and light oils only: Do not use this pump with petrol, gasoline or heavy engine oils.
Bypass operation: The internal bypass valve is intended for short-term use only. Avoid leaving the pump running against a closed discharge.
Flow rate: The stated flow figures are nominal ratings. Actual delivery will depend on the complete installation.
Electrical supply: This is 240V mains-powered equipment and should be installed and used in accordance with applicable electrical safety requirements.
