Sherpa 4x4 415V 3-Phase Electric Ramp Winch
The Sherpa 4x4 415V 3-Phase Industrial Winch is designed for fixed hauling applications such as pulling boats, machinery and heavy equipment up ramps or across suitable horizontal surfaces.
Available with stated rated line pulls from 1,600kg to 8,000kg, the range combines industrial 3-phase motors, planetary gearing, automatic braking and both wired and wireless controls.
Important: These winches are designed for pulling and hauling applications. They are not recommended for crane, hoist or personnel-lifting applications and may not comply with AS 1418 requirements for cranes and hoists.
Sherpa 4x4 3-Phase Industrial Ramp Winches
The Sherpa AC winch range provides a heavy-duty electric alternative for applications where a permanently installed 415V three-phase winch is required.
Typical applications include ramp hauling, boat retrieval, machinery movement and other fixed pulling tasks where the installation, structure and anchoring system have been appropriately designed for the loads involved.

Wired & Wireless Control
Each winch is supplied with both a wired pendant controller and a wireless remote controller.
Momentary controls allow the operator to command winch-in and winch-out functions through the contactor control system.
The control circuit operates at 24V.
Automatic Braking
The winch incorporates an automatic electric brake designed to engage when drive power is removed.
The brake is positioned externally to the winch drum, helping separate braking heat from the rope drum.
Always ensure the brake, mounting structure and complete winch installation are suitable for the intended pulling application before operation.
415V 3-Phase Power
These winches use industrial 415V three-phase AC motors and require permanent electrical connection appropriate to the installation.
Electrical installation must be completed by a suitably licensed electrician. The installation should include appropriate isolation, circuit protection and any other electrical controls required for the site and application.
Steel Cable & Drum Capacity
The smaller models are supplied with steel cable fitted to the drum:
- SW415V1600: supplied with 60m of 13mm steel cable; drum capacity up to 100m of 13mm cable
- SW415V3200: supplied with 100m of 18mm steel cable; drum capacity up to 200m of 18mm cable
- SW415V5000: drum capacity up to 200m of 22mm cable
- SW415V8000A: drum capacity up to 170m of 26mm cable
The 5,000kg and 8,000kg models are custom-order units. Supplied rope/cable configuration should be confirmed at the time of ordering.
Steel Cable or Synthetic Rope
The winches can be configured with suitable synthetic rope alternatives where the rope, drum, fairlead and installation are correctly selected for the application.
Always confirm rope diameter, breaking strength, drum capacity and compatibility with the winch before changing from the supplied cable configuration.

Installation Requirements
These winches generate substantial pulling forces and must be mounted to a structure engineered for the expected loads and operating conditions.
Before installation, consider:
- Winch mounting structure and fasteners
- Direction and angle of pull
- Anchoring and foundation requirements
- Rope alignment and fleet angle
- Electrical isolation and protection
- Operator visibility
- Guarding around moving components
- Exclusion zones around the winch and tensioned rope
Never stand in line with or near a tensioned winch rope. Keep personnel clear of the winch, rope, load and potential recoil path during operation.
Not for Lifting or Hoisting
This winch is intended for pulling and hauling only.
It is not recommended for lifting suspended loads, crane use, personnel lifting or other hoisting applications and may not comply with AS 1418 requirements applicable to cranes and hoists.
