Description

The Scintex Air Compressor Receiver Tanks provide compact compressed-air storage for onboard air systems in 4WDs, utes, trucks and workshop applications. Available in 4L, 9.5L and 19L capacities, each tank is manufactured from welded steel with a powder-coated finish and integrated mounting brackets.

With maximum operating pressures of 150 PSI or 200 PSI depending on model, these tanks are suited to tyre inflation, air tools, air lockers and other compatible compressed-air applications.

Steel Air Compressor Receiver Tanks

Adding an air receiver tank to a compatible compressor system provides a stored volume of compressed air that can help smooth compressor operation and provide short bursts of higher air demand.

Three tank sizes are available to suit installations ranging from compact 4WD onboard-air systems through to larger vehicle and workshop setups.

Air Tank Features

  • Available in 4L, 9.5L and 19L capacities
  • Heavy-duty welded steel construction
  • Powder-coated black finish
  • Integrated mounting brackets
  • Multiple threaded ports for system plumbing
  • Maximum operating pressure up to 200 PSI depending on model
  • Operating temperature range of -40°C to 80°C
  • Compact design for vehicle and equipment installations
  • Suitable for compatible onboard-air systems
  • 12 month warranty

Typical Applications

These receiver tanks can be incorporated into suitable compressed-air systems for applications including:

  • 4WD onboard air systems
  • Tyre inflation
  • Air-operated differential lockers
  • Blowing dust and debris from equipment
  • Short-duration operation of compatible air tools
  • Vehicle and machinery air systems
  • Workshop compressed-air storage

Why Add an Air Receiver Tank?

An air receiver stores compressed air produced by the compressor, providing a reserve volume that can be useful when demand temporarily exceeds the compressor's instantaneous output.

A receiver can also reduce rapid compressor cycling when correctly sized and configured with a suitable pressure switch and control system.

The available stored air depends on the tank volume and operating pressure, so a larger receiver generally provides greater reserve capacity.

Heavy-Duty Steel Construction

The tanks are manufactured from welded steel and finished with a protective powder coating.

Integrated mounting brackets allow the tank to be secured to a suitable vehicle, equipment frame or other supporting structure.

Always mount the tank securely and protect it from impact, excessive heat and damage from moving vehicle components.

Multiple Threaded Ports

Each tank incorporates multiple threaded ports for connecting compatible air-system components such as:

  • Compressor inlet line
  • Air outlet
  • Pressure gauge
  • Pressure switch
  • Pressure relief valve
  • Drain valve

Port size and quantity vary between tank models. Refer to the specification table before selecting fittings.

Optional Pressure Switches

Compatible sealed pressure switches are available for controlling suitable air compressor systems.

Available switch ranges include:

  • 85 PSI on / 105 PSI off
  • 90 PSI on / 120 PSI off
  • 110 PSI on / 145 PSI off
  • 165 PSI on / 200 PSI off

Sealed pressure switch for air compressor tank

Select a pressure switch with operating pressures that remain within the maximum allowable pressure of the chosen tank and all other components in the air system.

Compressed Air System Setup

A complete receiver installation typically requires appropriately rated fittings, pressure control, a pressure relief device and a method for draining accumulated condensation from the tank.

All hoses, fittings, valves and accessories should be rated for at least the maximum operating pressure of the system.

Important Installation Information

Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure specified for the selected tank. The pressure setting of the compressor control system must remain within the rating of the lowest-rated component in the installation.

Compressed-air systems store significant energy. Install the receiver securely, use appropriately rated components and inspect the tank and plumbing regularly for damage, corrosion or leaks.

For safety-critical or regulated applications, confirm that the tank and installation meet any applicable certification and regulatory requirements before use.

Fit for purpose

Cheap product, perfect for the job as a repairer, however, the BSP threads needed tapping to clean thread up for a better fit, lucky for me I have those tools in my shop. Still a very cheap little unit. Just be mondfull of threads on the ports. Would buy again.

Great Air Tank

Installed the 4L air tank in my 2021 Toyota Prado VX utilising the 2nd battery space. Used a home-made bracket and fitted the air tank. Works great. Heavy duty nuts and bolts (including flat washers & spring washers) came with the air tank so easy to attach to my bracket. Air tank looks well made and feels good quality.
