250mm Concrete Grinder & Edger
The PCFG250 is a compact 250mm concrete grinder designed for floor preparation, grinding and edge work. It uses a single 10" grinding disc and is compatible with Paddock discs and selected Floorex tooling.
With work rates of approximately 25-40m²/hr, the 250mm model is well suited to garages, workshops, smaller rooms and detailed preparation work.
A key advantage of this model is its removable grinding shroud. With the shroud removed, the grinder can work to within approximately 1mm of walls and other obstacles, reducing the amount of separate edge grinding required.
The 3HP fan-cooled electric motor directly drives the grinding head at 1420rpm. Built-in spirit levels and adjustable rear axle positions help the operator level the grinder correctly before use.
The floating shroud automatically follows the grinding surface and compensates for disc wear. A 40mm vacuum port allows connection to a suitable dust extractor, while a standard garden hose connection provides water for wet grinding applications.
The adjustable handle provides multiple operating positions as well as a folded transport position and tooling position for easier disc changes. A load-rated lifting point is also incorporated into the machine.
480mm Planetary Concrete Floor Grinder
The PCFG480 is a larger planetary floor grinder designed for faster preparation of commercial floors, warehouses, garages and other substantial concrete areas.
The machine uses 3 x 175mm grinding discs across a 480mm working diameter and can achieve work rates of approximately 50-75m²/hr depending on tooling, concrete hardness and floor condition.
Grinding discs are retained using quick-connect magnetic plugs, allowing tooling changes without screws or bolts. The planetary grinding head is driven through a reduction gearbox to provide lower head speed and increased grinding torque at the floor.
The machine includes 17 axle height adjustment positions and integrated spirit levels to help achieve correct grinding head alignment.
Two removable 23kg counterweights can be positioned to increase grinding head pressure and reduce bouncing or vibration where required.
A 40mm dust extraction port is fitted along with an adjustable vacuum hose guide to keep the extraction hose away from the operator. The adjustable handle incorporates the main controls, emergency stop and overload protection.
480mm Variable Speed 3-Phase Grinder
The PCFG480VSD builds on the 480mm planetary platform with a more powerful 4.0kW / 5.36HP 3-phase motor and Schneider variable speed drive.
The grinding head can be adjusted between approximately 40 and 400rpm, providing greater control when matching grinder speed to different tooling, coatings, concrete hardness and polishing applications.
With higher head pressure and work rates of approximately 75-105m²/hr, this model is suited to larger commercial and professional floor preparation projects.
Concrete Floor Grinder Applications
- Concrete floor grinding

Which Grinding Discs Should I Choose?
Tooling selection depends on the floor condition, concrete hardness and material being removed. As a general starting point:
For glue, epoxy resin or coatings:
- Hard Bond, 3 Segment, 30 Grit
For general floor preparation:
- Soft Bond, 16 Grit
- Soft Bond, 30 Grit
- Soft Bond, 80 Grit
- Optional Soft Bond, 150 Grit
Note: The 480mm grinders require 3 x 175mm discs to make a complete tooling set.
Polishing Pads & Pad Drivers
Paddock also supplies resin polishing pads in a wide range of grits from 50# through to 5000#. These can be fitted to compatible grinders using Velcro pad drivers.
Optional Grinding Shoe Adapter - PCFG250
An optional adapter plate allows the 250mm grinder to use compatible grinding shoes where preferred.

Silica Dust Control
Concrete grinding can generate hazardous respirable crystalline silica dust. Appropriate dust control is essential. Use a suitable industrial dust extraction system or approved wet-grinding method, along with the required PPE and workplace controls for the application.
