Description
The Paddock Sectional Drain Cleaner is a heavy duty 240V drain cleaning machine designed for plumbers, maintenance contractors and serious property owners. Using high-speed sectional cable and interchangeable cutting heads, it is ideal for clearing blocked sewer and drain pipes affected by roots, grease, debris and other obstructions.
Supplied with 18.4m of 30mm sectional cable and six cutting tools, the machine is ready for demanding drain-cleaning work straight out of the box. Additional cable lengths can be added for longer pipe runs, with the machine suitable for applications up to approximately 80m depending on conditions.

Designed for Serious Drain Blockages
Sectional drain cleaners are particularly effective where buried pipes have become restricted by dense or difficult obstructions.
Typical applications include:
- Tree root intrusion
- Sewer blockages
- Septic pipework
- Grease and fat build-up
- Restaurant and commercial kitchen drains
- Accumulated debris
- Foreign material in underground pipework
The combination of high rotational speed, strong motor torque and interchangeable cutting heads allows the cable to work through a wide range of common drain obstructions.
1100W High-Torque Motor
The Paddock drain cleaner is powered by a large 1.1kW / 1100W electric motor operating from standard 240V single-phase power.
With cable speeds up to 700 RPM, the machine provides the cutting action required to help clear difficult obstructions while maintaining the torque needed for longer cable runs.
18.4m of 30mm Sectional Cable Included
The standard machine is supplied with:
- 4 x 4.6m cable sections
- 30mm cable diameter
- Total included cable length of 18.4m
- Cable storage cage
Additional sectional cable can be purchased separately when greater reach is required.
Depending on pipe layout, blockage type and operating conditions, the machine is capable of working on pipe runs up to approximately 80m.
16mm, 22mm & 30mm Cable Compatibility
A key feature of the Paddock design is the ability to operate different sectional cable diameters from the same machine.
The drive system can accommodate:
- 16mm cable
- 22mm cable
- 30mm cable
This allows the operator to configure the machine for different pipe diameters and blockage conditions rather than requiring a separate machine for each cable size.
The standard kit is supplied with 30mm cable.
High Quality Flexible Cable
Sectional cable quality is critical to drain cleaner performance. The cable must be flexible enough to negotiate bends while still transmitting sufficient rotational force to the cutting head.
Paddock uses heat-treated sectional cable designed to provide a balance between flexibility, strength and service life.
Good cable flexibility can assist the machine in progressing further through complex pipework while still transferring the torque required at the cutting head.
Six Cutting Tools Included
The drain cleaner is supplied with six 30mm cutting and clearing tools for different blockage types:
- Straight auger - useful for initial investigation and penetrating blockages
- Funnel auger - suited to soft blockages and general clearing
- Retrieving auger - helps retrieve loose material from pipework
- Grease cutter - suited to grease and soft deposits
- Saw-tooth cutter - designed for tougher obstructions including root intrusion
- C cutter - useful for cleaning pipe walls and clearing larger sections
Single-Lever Clutch & Brake
The operating controls combine the clutch and brake into a single lever action, giving the operator straightforward control of the cable during use.
This allows the cable drive to be engaged and released quickly while working through a blockage.
Built for Mobile Trade Use
The machine is mounted on an integrated trolley so it can be transported and positioned by a single operator.
Large 10" wheels improve mobility over uneven ground and make stairs and site access easier than with smaller-wheel designs.
The frame also provides storage space for the sectional cable cage and cutting accessories, keeping the main drain-cleaning equipment together during transport.
Connector Compatibility
The supplied cable connection system is compatible with Ridgid and Rothenberger style connectors, providing additional flexibility when integrating compatible sectional drain-cleaning equipment and accessories.

Selecting the Correct Cable
The most suitable cable diameter depends on the pipe size, pipe layout and type of obstruction being cleared.
Smaller cable can provide greater flexibility in tighter pipework, while larger cable generally provides greater strength and torque transfer for larger drains and more substantial blockages.
The standard machine is supplied with 30mm cable. Additional 16mm, 22mm and 30mm compatible cable and accessories can be added separately where required.
Important Operating Information
Pipe condition: Drain cleaning equipment should only be used where the condition and construction of the pipe are suitable for mechanical cleaning. Damaged, collapsed or fragile pipework may require inspection or repair rather than aggressive cutting.
Protective equipment: Appropriate gloves, eye protection and other PPE should be worn when operating drain-cleaning equipment.
Cable handling: Always operate the cable in accordance with the supplied instructions and avoid excessive force if the cutting head becomes trapped.
Electrical safety: As the machine is used around drains and potentially wet environments, ensure the electrical supply and site setup comply with applicable electrical safety requirements.
