Description

The Paddock Flex Drive Submersible Trash Pump is a heavy-duty dewatering system designed for construction sites, pits, footings, farms, mining and other demanding dirty-water applications. Supplied as a complete kit with drive unit, flexible shaft and cast-iron pump head, it is ready to handle water containing heavy sediment and suspended solids.

Petrol and diesel models deliver flow rates up to 1,000L/min (60m³/hr) with up to 15m discharge head, while the submersible pump head can handle solids up to 25mm and fluids containing up to 60% solids. Choose from Honda petrol, YANMAR diesel, KAMA diesel or single-phase electric drive options.

Paddock Flex Drive Submersible Trash Pump

Heavy-Duty Pumping for Dirty Water & High Solids

The Paddock Flex Drive Trash Pump is designed for jobs where conventional clean-water pumps are unsuitable. The submersible pump head can be lowered directly into pits, excavations, sumps and other difficult-to-access areas while the engine or electric drive remains safely above the water.

This arrangement is particularly useful for construction dewatering, concrete footings, drainage pits, farms and industrial applications where dirty water and suspended solids need to be moved quickly.

Up to 1,000L/min Flow

The petrol and diesel versions are capable of delivering up to 1,000L/min (60m³/hr), with maximum discharge head up to 15m.

The electric version delivers up to 750L/min (45m³/hr) with maximum head of approximately 12m.

Actual flow will depend on discharge head, hose length, pipe friction, solids content and operating conditions.

Handles Dirty Water & Solids

The robust cast-iron pump head is designed to handle dirty fluids containing suspended material that can quickly block smaller conventional pumps.

• Maximum solid size: 25mm
• Maximum stated solids content: up to 60%

This makes the pump well suited to muddy water, sediment-heavy pits and construction dewatering applications.

Submersible Flex Drive Design

The pump head is driven remotely through a heavy-duty flexible shaft, allowing the pump to work below water level while keeping the drive unit above the excavation or pit.

Both 6m and 8m flexible shaft options are available to suit different access depths.

A heavy-duty quick-action coupling makes connecting and disconnecting the shaft from the drive unit straightforward.

Choose Your Drive Unit

The same pump system is available with several drive options to suit different sites and operating requirements:

• Honda GX160 Petrol: proven 4-stroke petrol drive for general construction and field use.
• YANMAR L48N6 Diesel: commercial air-cooled diesel option for users who prefer diesel-powered equipment.
• KAMA KM170F Diesel: economical diesel drive option.
• Single-Phase Electric: suitable where mains electrical power is available and engine exhaust or fuel use is undesirable.

Honda GX160 Petrol Drive

The Honda-powered version uses the popular GX160 4-stroke commercial petrol engine. It offers straightforward recoil starting and is well supported for servicing and replacement parts.

YANMAR Diesel Drive

The YANMAR version uses the L48N6 air-cooled diesel engine, providing a compact diesel-powered solution for construction, agricultural and commercial applications.

KAMA Diesel Drive

The KAMA KM170F provides a lower-cost diesel option while retaining the portability and fuel characteristics many users prefer from diesel-powered construction equipment.

Electric Drive Option

Where single-phase mains power is available, the electric-drive version provides an alternative to petrol and diesel engines.

The 2kW industrial electric motor delivers up to 750L/min and eliminates the need for engine fuel, exhaust and routine engine servicing.

Discharge Hose & Fittings

The pump head is supplied with a 3" BSP female discharge and 2" hose barb. A range of alternative fittings, camlocks and layflat discharge hoses can also be used to configure the system for different applications.

Scintex can supply compatible 50mm layflat discharge hose and associated fittings for longer discharge runs.

Camlock Connection Options

Camlock adaptors can be fitted where quick hose connection and disconnection is preferred.

Important: Maximum flow and maximum discharge head occur at different operating points and should not be expected simultaneously. Actual performance will vary with hose length, elevation, fittings, solids concentration and fluid characteristics.

For engine-powered versions, always operate the drive unit in a well-ventilated outdoor location and never position the engine where it may become submerged. Follow all engine and pump operating instructions before use.
