Automatic Float Switch for Bilge Pumps – 12V, 24V & 36V
Description
The Automatic Bilge Pump Float Switch provides automatic water-level control for compatible electric bilge pumps. As the water level rises and falls, the float operates an internal switch to turn the connected pump on and off automatically.
Designed for marine bilge applications, the compact switch is suitable for installation in boats and other vessels where automatic bilge water removal is required.
Automatic Float Switch for Bilge Pumps
Add automatic operation to a compatible bilge pump with this simple mechanical float switch. As water collects in the bilge, the rising float activates the internal switch and starts the pump. Once the water level has been reduced, the float lowers and switches the pump off.
Key Features
- Automatic on/off control for compatible bilge pumps
- Suitable for 12V, 24V and 36V DC systems
- Rated up to 20A on 12V systems
- Rated up to 10A on 24V systems
- Approx. 50mm switch-on water level
- Approx. 19mm switch-off water level
- Simple mechanical float operation
- Compact design for installation in confined bilge areas
- Designed for marine bilge applications
Automatic Bilge Pump Operation
The float switch allows a compatible electric bilge pump to operate automatically as the water level changes.
The switch is designed to activate when the water level reaches approximately 50mm. As the bilge pump removes water, the switch turns the pump off when the level falls to approximately 19mm.

Installation
Install the float switch where it can move freely with the changing water level and where debris or other equipment cannot obstruct its movement.
Confirm that the connected bilge pump's current draw is within the float switch rating for the system voltage. Appropriate circuit protection should be used as part of the vessel's electrical installation.
Compatible Bilge Pumps
Pair the float switch with a compatible electric bilge pump to create an automatic bilge pumping system.

Important
Regularly inspect and test the float switch and bilge pump to ensure the float moves freely and the system operates correctly. Do not allow debris, wiring or other objects to obstruct the float mechanism.
