These heating elements are specifically designed with a low heat density. This means while the output of the heater element might 2400w, the surface of the element does not get as hot as other elements. This helps prevent degradation of the fluid being heated.
Having a low heat density makes these heaters ideal for heating biodiesel and vegetable oils which require a low heat density to prevent chemical degradation which leads to high levels of free fatty acids. Customers have used these heating elements for a variety of applications such as heating waxes and heavy oils, bee's wax, engine oils, fats, water and a variety of other non flammable substances.
All Immersion Heaters are supplied with 2" BSP fitting ideal for screwing into common 205L drums. If trying to fit to another vessel it's possible to weld or thread on a 2" nut to screw the element into.
Note, elements must be submerged in liquid during operation to avoid damage.
