Description
The Paddock™ Honda Single Drum Vibratory Roller is a compact walk-behind compactor designed for soil, sand, gravel and asphalt applications. Combining a genuine Honda GX160 commercial engine, 185kg machine weight and 10kN centrifugal force, it provides effective compaction for construction, landscaping, road maintenance and site preparation.
A fully hydraulic travel system, 580mm wide drum and onboard 15L water tank make this roller well suited to paths, driveways, trenches, asphalt repairs and other areas where a larger ride-on roller may be impractical.
Paddock™ Honda Single Drum Vibratory Roller
Designed for professional construction, landscaping and maintenance applications, the Paddock™ single drum roller combines static machine weight with high-frequency vibration to compact suitable granular materials and asphalt.
The compact walk-behind design allows the machine to operate close to kerbs, walls and other obstacles while remaining straightforward for a single operator to manoeuvre.

Honda GX160 Commercial Engine
The roller is powered by a Honda GX160 163cc 4-stroke petrol engine, a widely used commercial engine for construction and industrial equipment.
The recoil-start engine provides dependable power for the machine's hydraulic drive and vibration system, with a 3.1L fuel tank for practical worksite operation.
10kN Vibratory Compaction
The built-in exciter produces 10kN of centrifugal force at a vibration frequency of 4560 vpm (76Hz).
Combining this vibratory action with the machine's 185kg weight helps consolidate suitable materials efficiently and achieve a consistent compacted surface.
580mm Single Drum
The roller uses a 580mm wide × 400mm diameter drum, providing a useful balance between compaction coverage and manoeuvrability.
Bevelled drum edges help reduce unwanted edge markings, while self-cleaning scrapers help prevent material building up on the drum during operation.
Hydraulic Travel Control
A Hydra-Gear hydraulic transmission provides smooth travel control from 0 to approximately 1.5km/h.
The hydraulic drive arrangement allows the operator to adjust travel speed to suit the material and compaction application without relying on a conventional chain-drive transmission.
15L Water System for Asphalt Work
An onboard 15L removable water reservoir allows water to be applied when required during compatible asphalt and bitumen compaction applications.
The water system helps reduce hot asphalt adhering to the drum, while the removable reservoir simplifies filling and maintenance.
Compact Walk-Behind Design
The compact configuration is particularly useful for areas where access or manoeuvring room is limited.
Typical applications include:
- Paths and walkways
- Driveways
- Asphalt repairs
- Trench reinstatement
- Pipeline and utility works
- Car parks
- Road and kerb works
- Building site preparation
- Landscaping
- Granular base preparation
- Hire and rental fleets
Suitable Compaction Materials
The Paddock™ single drum roller is suitable for compaction of compatible materials including:
- Soil
- Sand
- Gravel
- Road base and suitable granular materials
- Asphalt
Compaction results will depend on material type, moisture content, layer thickness, number of passes and site conditions.
Operator-Friendly Controls
The walk-behind roller is designed for single-operator use with conveniently positioned travel and vibration controls.
A height-adjustable handle allows the operating position to be adjusted for user comfort and also assists when preparing the machine for transport or storage.

Before First Use
Check the engine oil level before starting the machine. Engines may be transported with only sufficient oil for storage and transport, and additional engine oil may be required before first operation.
Some minor assembly may also be required following transport. Complete all pre-start inspections, fluid checks and assembly requirements in accordance with the supplied operating instructions before using the roller.
Compaction Considerations
For best results, compact material in suitable layer thicknesses and ensure moisture conditions are appropriate for the material being worked.
Operators should also consider site conditions, slopes, edges and underground services when using compaction equipment. Follow the supplied operating and safety instructions at all times.
