In-line Heater with Digital Thermostat
Description
A sealed 240V inline heater designed to heat circulating water, diesel, biodiesel, oils and other compatible fluids. Fluid passes through the heater body where a low-watt-density heating element raises the temperature, while an NTC temperature sensor provides feedback to the digital thermostat for automatic temperature control.
240V Inline Heater with Digital Thermostat
This inline heater provides a practical solution for applications requiring controlled heating of circulating fluids. Typical uses include heating oils, diesel and biodiesel, furnace preheating applications, water heating and other compatible process-fluid applications.
Important: This heater is not suitable for petrol or gasoline.
The heater is supplied with a digital temperature controller and NTC temperature sensor. The controller monitors fluid temperature and switches the heating circuit according to the selected temperature set point.
Inline Heater Features
- 240V single-phase operation
- Maximum heating capacity of 2400W
- Selectable 800W, 1600W or 2400W operation via the control box
- Digital thermostat temperature control
- NTC temperature sensor
- Low-watt-density heating element
- Suitable for water, diesel, biodiesel, oils and compatible fluids
- Not suitable for petrol or gasoline
- Choice of 1/2", 3/4" or 1" stainless steel hose tails
- Approximately 900mm overall heater length
Digital Temperature Controller
The heater uses a digital temperature controller with an NTC sensor for temperature feedback. The controller allows the desired operating temperature to be selected and automatically switches the heating output as required.
The controller provides a temperature setting range of approximately -50°C to 99.9°C with 0.1°C display resolution. The temperature controller is rated to an accuracy of approximately ±1°C between -50°C and 70°C.
The controller also incorporates adjustable temperature differential and temperature calibration settings.
Selectable Heater Output
The heater operates from a 240V single-phase electrical supply and has a maximum heating capacity of 2400W.
The control box allows the heating output to be configured for:
- 800W
- 1600W
- 2400W
This provides flexibility where a lower heating rate is preferred or where the full 2400W output is not required.
Fluid Applications
The inline heater can be used with a range of compatible fluids including:
- Water
- Diesel
- Biodiesel
- Heating oils
- Motor and process oils
- Other compatible non-petrol fluids
The low-watt-density heating element is designed to reduce element surface temperature compared with higher-density heating elements, making it suitable for applications where controlled and relatively gentle heating is desirable.
Note: Always confirm chemical compatibility before using the heater with fluids not specifically listed.
Inlet & Outlet Fittings
The inline heater can be supplied with a choice of stainless steel hose tails to make connection to common hose sizes straightforward.
Standard fitting options include:
- 1/2" stainless steel hose tail
- 3/4" stainless steel hose tail
- 1" stainless steel hose tail
Select the required fitting size when ordering. Custom fitting arrangements may also be available where a different connection is required.

Installation & Electrical Connection
The heater is supplied as a kit requiring minimal assembly. The electrical supply lead is supplied without a plug and must be correctly wired and connected by a suitably licensed electrician.
The digital controller should be installed in a suitable location protected from excessive moisture, heat, vibration and contamination. Follow the supplied controller and heater instructions during installation and setup.
Important: This heating system should only be operated within its specified temperature and electrical limits. Ensure the heater is correctly installed for the intended fluid and application before energising the heating element.
