Description

The Paddock™ Excavator Rock Breaker Attachment is designed for breaking concrete, rock and other hard materials using the hydraulic power of a compatible excavator.

Available in configurations to suit Paddock Series 10 and Series 17 Excavators, the breaker uses a nitrogen-charged hydraulic hammer mechanism and hardened pointed chisel to deliver repeated impact energy into the material being broken.

The attachment is supplied with hydraulic hoses, pointed chisel and nitrogen recharge kit.

Paddock™ Excavator Rock Breaker Attachment

A hydraulic rock breaker adds useful demolition and material-breaking capability to a compatible excavator. It can be used to reduce larger sections of concrete or rock into smaller, more manageable pieces for removal or further processing.

The breaker combines excavator hydraulic pressure with a nitrogen-charged hammer mechanism to generate repeated impact energy through the chisel tip.

Rock Breaker Features

  • Options to suit Paddock Series 10 and Series 17 Excavators
  • Hydraulic rock breaker / hammer attachment
  • Nitrogen-charged hammer mechanism
  • 80–100J stated impact energy
  • 35mm hardened pointed chisel
  • Compatible with suitable quick-hitch connections
  • Hydraulic hoses included
  • Pointed chisel bit included
  • Nitrogen recharge kit included
  • Approx. 75kg attachment weight
  • 1 year warranty

Typical Applications

The Paddock Rock Breaker is suited to a range of demolition and excavation tasks, including:

  • Breaking concrete driveways
  • Reducing concrete slabs and sections
  • Breaking larger rocks
  • General excavation and demolition work
  • Property and construction site preparation
  • Rock reduction before excavation or removal

Hydraulic & Nitrogen-Assisted Operation

The breaker uses hydraulic power from the excavator together with a nitrogen-charged hammer system to drive the chisel repeatedly into the work surface.

The supplied operating pressure range is 8–11MPa / 1160–1600psi. The host excavator's hydraulic system must be suitable for the breaker configuration being fitted.

Hardened Pointed Chisel

A 35mm pointed chisel is supplied with the attachment. The concentrated point is designed to apply impact energy into concrete and rock to help initiate and propagate fractures.

Performance will vary depending on the hardness, structure and thickness of the material being broken, as well as excavator setup and operating technique.

Duty Cycle Guidance

To help manage heat in the hydraulic oil and breaker components, avoid prolonged continuous hammering in one position.

As a general operating guide:

  • Hammering cycle: approximately 30 seconds at a time
  • Rest period: approximately 15–30 seconds between cycles
  • Typical total hammering time: approximately 30–40 minutes per hour

These figures should be treated as general guidance only. Actual operating limits depend on the excavator, hydraulic oil temperature, ambient conditions, material being broken and the instructions in the supplied manual.

What's Included

  • Paddock excavator rock breaker attachment
  • Hydraulic hoses
  • Pointed chisel bit
  • Nitrogen recharge kit

Compatibility & Setup

Select the breaker configuration that matches the intended Paddock Series 10 or Series 17 Excavator.

Before operation, confirm the excavator's quick-hitch arrangement, hydraulic connections, operating pressure and attachment capacity are suitable for the selected breaker.

Operating Considerations

Keep the chisel correctly positioned against the material before applying hammer action and avoid prolonged hammering after the material has already fractured.

Do not use the breaker as a lifting, prying or levering attachment unless specifically permitted by the manufacturer.

Inspect the chisel, retaining system, hydraulic hoses and fittings before use. Keep personnel clear of the breaker and surrounding area because broken material can move or eject unexpectedly.
