Tackle roadsides, verges, embankments, ditches and overgrown vegetation with the Paddock™ PTO Offset Verge Flail Mower. Designed for tractors in the 45–70 HP range, this heavy-duty 3-point linkage mower combines a 1.8m cutting width with hydraulic side shift and angle adjustment, allowing the mower to work directly behind the tractor or offset to the side for difficult-to-reach terrain.

Built for demanding agricultural, acreage and property maintenance applications, the mower uses 22 reinforced hammer flails and a dynamically balanced rotor to tackle dense grass, weeds and brush up to approximately 30–40mm diameter. A reinforced double-layer mower body, adjustable rear roller and heavy-duty driveline make this a serious solution for maintaining challenging terrain.

Built for Verges, Slopes & Difficult Terrain

A conventional rear-mounted mower is well suited to open paddocks, but maintaining roadsides, drains, embankments and other uneven terrain often requires the cutting head to operate away from the tractor.

The Paddock™ Offset Verge Flail Mower uses a hydraulically controlled linkage system that allows the mower deck to move laterally away from the tractor and operate at different angles.

This provides the versatility required to maintain areas such as:

Hydraulic Side Shift

The hydraulic side-shift system allows the mower to be positioned behind or offset to the side of the tractor without the operator having to manually reposition the implement.

With the mower extended to the side, the tractor can remain on more stable ground while the cutting head reaches vegetation along verges, fence lines, shoulders and other areas that would otherwise be difficult to access.

The offset configuration also allows the mower to reach beyond the tractor's wheel track, making it particularly useful for roadside and boundary maintenance.

Hydraulic Angle Adjustment

In addition to side shift, the mower head can be hydraulically angled to follow sloping terrain.

This allows the mower to work across banks, roadside shoulders and into suitable drainage areas while the tractor remains on comparatively level ground.

The combination of hydraulic offset and hydraulic angle adjustment makes this mower considerably more versatile than a conventional fixed rear flail mower.

Heavy-Duty Hammer Flails

The mower is equipped with 22 reinforced hammer flails designed to provide a powerful cutting and mulching action through dense vegetation.

The heavy hammer-style flails provide significantly more impact than light grass-cutting blades, making the mower suitable for demanding vegetation management applications including:

• Long and dense grass
• Heavy weeds
• Overgrown paddock edges
• Light scrub
• Brush and woody vegetation up to approximately 30–40mm diameter

Material is cut and shredded within the mower housing, helping leave vegetation distributed across the ground rather than discharged in long lengths.

Dynamically Balanced Spiral Rotor

The flails are mounted around a dynamically balanced spiral rotor. The spiral arrangement distributes cutting loads progressively across the rotor rather than having all flails impact vegetation simultaneously.

This helps provide smoother operation, consistent cutting performance and reduced shock loading through the mower and tractor driveline.

High-strength M14 fasteners are used for secure flail mounting and straightforward replacement when required.

Heavy-Duty Reinforced Mower Body

Designed for demanding agricultural environments, the mower features a lined, double-layer reinforced hood with additional strengthening panels.

This robust construction helps protect the mower body from impacts and debris generated while cutting heavy vegetation and brush.

Adjustable Rear Roller

A heavy-duty rear roller supports the mower as it travels across the ground and provides adjustment of the mowing height.

The roller helps the cutting head follow changing terrain and reduces the chance of the flails contacting the ground during normal operation.

An integrated self-cleaning scraper helps prevent grass, mud and vegetation from accumulating around the rear roller during operation.

3-Belt Drive System

Power from the tractor PTO is transferred to the flail rotor through a heavy-duty 3-belt drive system.

The multi-belt arrangement provides reliable power transmission while also helping protect the driveline against sudden shock loads encountered when mowing heavy or uneven vegetation.

540 RPM PTO Drive

The mower is designed to operate from a standard tractor 540 RPM PTO and is supplied with an overrunning PTO driveline.

The implement is compatible with suitable Category I and Category II 3-point linkage tractors within the recommended power range.

The Paddock™ Offset Verge Flail Mower is designed for tractors in the 45–70 HP range.

Tractor suitability should not be determined by horsepower alone. The tractor must also have sufficient weight, hydraulic capability, PTO capacity and 3-point linkage capacity to safely operate and control the mower, particularly when the cutting head is fully offset or operating on sloping ground.

Tractor Hydraulic Requirements

The mower requires suitable tractor hydraulic connections to operate the hydraulic side-shift and cutting-head angle functions.

Before purchasing, confirm your tractor has the required rear hydraulic remotes, sufficient hydraulic capability and compatible connections to operate the mower.

Important Tractor & Operating Requirements

This is a heavy offset implement. The mower weighs approximately 660kg and its centre of gravity changes significantly as the cutting head is moved away from the tractor.

The tractor must be appropriately sized, ballasted and configured for the mower. Tractor stability can be significantly affected when operating with the mower fully offset, particularly on slopes, embankments or uneven ground.

Always operate at a speed appropriate for the terrain and vegetation. Do not exceed the tractor or implement manufacturer's operating limits.

Important Safety Information

Flail mowers can discharge stones, timber and other debris at high velocity. Ensure people, animals, vehicles and property remain well clear of the operating area and inspect the mowing area for hazards before starting work.

All PTO, belt and mower guards must be correctly fitted before operation. Never approach, inspect, clear or service the mower while the PTO is engaged. Disengage the PTO, lower the implement to a safe position, stop the tractor engine, remove the key and wait for all rotating components to come to a complete stop before performing maintenance or adjustments.
