Reliable Air Powered Fluid Transfer
Air operated double diaphragm pumps are well suited to applications requiring a simple and reliable method of transferring fluids. Connect the pump to a suitable compressed air supply and use an inline pressure regulator to control the air pressure and pump output.
Unlike many electrically driven pumps, an air diaphragm pump can safely stop against a closed discharge or valve without an electric motor continuing to run against the blockage. This makes diaphragm pumps particularly useful in workshops, farms and industrial fluid handling systems where flow may be started and stopped regularly.
Aluminium Body & Nitrile Diaphragms
The pump body is manufactured from aluminium with Nitrile rubber (Buna-N) diaphragms. The smaller models also use PTFE balls and CPP seats. This combination is suitable for a range of common fluids including diesel, motor oil, hydraulic oil, vegetable oil and water.
Important: Fluid compatibility must always be confirmed before use. Compatibility depends on all wetted materials as well as the fluid concentration, temperature and operating conditions.
Petrol Notice: While the pump materials may be chemically compatible with petrol in some applications, these pumps are not certified for petrol transfer and Scintex does not recommend them for this use.

Choosing an Air Compressor
The performance of an air operated diaphragm pump depends on the pressure and volume of compressed air available. These pumps can operate from a variety of compressor sizes; however, a smaller compressor will generally result in a lower achievable flow rate.
The larger 240L/min and 400L/min pumps require significantly greater air volume when operated at higher flow rates, with maximum stated air consumption of 900L/min and 1500L/min respectively. Ensure your compressor can provide sufficient continuous air delivery for the required pump performance.
Always install a suitable inline air pressure regulator so the pressure and flow supplied to the pump can be controlled. The pumps use a standard 1/4" air supply connection commonly used with pneumatic equipment.
