Description
The Paddock Heavy Duty Seed & Fertiliser Spreader is a high-capacity tow-behind broadcast spreader built for farms, acreage, paddocks and large properties. With a 158kg (350lb) capacity, 160L steel hopper and heavy-duty oil-filled cast-iron gearbox, it's designed for users who need greater capacity and durability than a standard garden spreader.
Tow it behind a quad bike, ATV, farm utility or compatible tractor using the standard 50mm tow-ball coupling. The ground-driven broadcast system requires no PTO or electrical connection and can achieve a spread width of over 6 metres, depending on the material and towing speed.
- 158kg / 350lb maximum capacity
- Large 160L steel hopper
- 6m+ broadcast spread width depending on material and tow speed
- Heavy-duty oil-filled cast-iron gearbox
- Ground-driven operation – no PTO or electrical power required
- Adjustable material flow rate
- Large 14" × 6" pneumatic tyres
- Standard 50mm / 2" tow-ball coupling
- Adjustable drawbar length
- Powder-coated steel frame
- Ideal for seed, fertiliser and compatible granular materials
- 12 month manufacturer's warranty
Paddock Heavy Duty 350lb Tow Behind Broadcast Spreader
High-Capacity Seed & Fertiliser Spreading
The Paddock Heavy Duty Broadcast Spreader provides a simple and efficient way to distribute seed, fertiliser and other compatible free-flowing granular materials across paddocks, fields, lawns and larger properties.
With a substantial 158kg (350lb) load capacity and 160L hopper, fewer stops are required for refilling when covering larger areas. This makes it an excellent option for acreage and farm applications where a tractor-mounted PTO spreader may not be available or practical.
Ground-Driven – No PTO or Power Required
The spreader requires no PTO, battery or electrical connection. As the spreader is towed, rotation of the wheels and axle drives the gearbox, which in turn operates the broadcast spreading disc.
Simply fill the hopper, connect the spreader to your towing vehicle and begin spreading.
6m+ Broadcast Spread Width
The broadcast system can achieve a spread width of more than 6 metres, allowing large areas to be covered efficiently.
Actual spread width and coverage will vary according to the type, size and density of the granular material, flow setting and towing speed.
A manually operated flow control adjusts the hopper outlet, allowing the operator to increase, reduce or stop material flow as required.
Heavy-Duty Steel Hopper
The large 160L hopper is manufactured from steel and is designed to handle loads of up to 158kg / 350lb.
The steel hopper is supported by a robust powder-coated steel frame, creating a spreader suited to regular use around farms and larger properties.
Heavy-Duty Oil-Filled Cast-Iron Gearbox
A key feature of this model is its upgraded cast-iron, oil-filled gearbox. The oversized gearbox transfers wheel rotation to the broadcast mechanism and is designed for the heavier loads associated with the spreader's larger hopper capacity.
This makes the unit particularly well suited to users looking for a durable tow-behind alternative to lighter-duty lawn and garden spreaders.
Wide Pneumatic Tyres
The spreader runs on two large 14" diameter × 6" wide pneumatic tyres. Their broad footprint helps the unit travel over paddocks and uneven terrain while reducing ground pressure compared with narrower wheels.
The larger tyre diameter also helps the spreader travel over small holes, bumps and uneven surfaces commonly encountered around rural properties.
Standard 50mm Tow Ball Connection
A standard 50mm / 2" tow-ball coupling makes the spreader compatible with a wide range of suitably equipped:
- Quad bikes
- ATVs
- Side-by-sides
- Farm utilities
- Tractors
- Other suitable property vehicles
The drawbar length is adjustable, providing additional flexibility when matching the spreader to different towing vehicles.
What Can You Spread?
The broadcast system is designed for compatible dry, free-flowing granular materials. Depending on the characteristics of the material, applications may include:
- Grass and pasture seed
- Granular fertiliser
- Lime
- Gypsum
- Suitable granular soil amendments
- Other compatible free-flowing granular products
Material consistency, moisture content and granule size can affect flow and spread performance. Always test the flow setting and spread pattern before treating the full area.
Ideal for Farms, Acreage & Large Properties
The combination of high capacity and wide broadcast coverage makes this spreader particularly useful for:
- Pasture establishment and renovation
- Paddock seeding
- Fertiliser application
- Large lawns and acreage
- Fields and agricultural areas
- Golf courses and grounds maintenance
- Large-scale landscaping

Assembly
The Paddock Heavy Duty Spreader is supplied packaged and requires assembly before use. Ensure all fasteners, the drawbar, wheels, gearbox drive and spreading mechanism are correctly assembled and checked before filling the hopper.
Important: The actual spread rate and coverage will vary depending on the material being applied, granule size, moisture content, flow setting and towing speed. Calibrate the spreader for the selected material before treating the full area and follow the manufacturer's application rate for seed, fertiliser or soil amendments.
