118 L/min Free Air Delivery
The dual-head compressor delivers up to 118 L/min of free air, making the BOX AIR well suited to inflating 4WD tyres after beach driving, off-road touring or reducing tyre pressures for rough terrain.
Unlike free-air figures alone, compressor flow reduces as pressure increases. The performance table below shows the actual airflow available at different operating pressures.
Integrated 3.8L Air Tank
The BOX AIR incorporates a 3.8L air receiver which stores compressed air and helps provide a responsive air supply between compressor cycles.
The automatic pressure switch starts the compressor when tank pressure falls to approximately 120 PSI and switches it off when the tank reaches approximately 150 PSI.
This allows the compressor to build and store air while you move between tyres or prepare the next inflation point.
Automatic Pressure Control
With an integrated pressure switch, the BOX AIR operates much like a compact workshop compressor.
The compressor automatically cycles between:
- Cut-in pressure: 120 PSI
- Cut-out pressure: 150 PSI
A separate 180 PSI safety relief valve provides additional over-pressure protection.
Heavy Duty Dual-Head Compressor
The BOX AIR uses a dual-head oil-free compressor designed to deliver strong airflow from a compact 12V package.
The compressor has a maximum operating pressure rating of 200 PSI, while the integrated control system normally operates the tank between 120 and 150 PSI.
This provides ample pressure for typical 4WD tyre inflation while keeping normal operation below the compressor's maximum pressure rating.
Heavy Duty Portable Carry Case
The complete air system is mounted inside a rugged carry case designed for touring and off-road use.
The case keeps the compressor, tank and accessories together and provides a stable platform when the system is placed on the ground for operation.
At approximately 15kg, the complete BOX AIR remains portable while providing the convenience of an integrated tank and automatic pressure control.
12V Power
The BOX AIR connects directly to a suitable 12V vehicle battery using the supplied 3m power leads with alligator clips.
Maximum current draw is approximately 45A, with a 60A fuse incorporated into the electrical system.
For best performance, ensure the battery and charging system are in good condition and that electrical connections are clean and secure.
Duty Cycle
The BOX AIR is rated to a 30% duty cycle at 100 PSI.
This means the compressor requires cooling periods during extended high-pressure operation. It is ideal for normal tyre inflation and touring use, but is not designed for continuous-duty industrial air supply.
