Sherpa 4x4 has been designing and building winches for many years, continually improving its products through real-world experience and customer feedback. For operators of larger trucks, there has long been demand for a powerful and economical electric winch capable of reducing the reliance on more complex hydraulic systems. The Sherpa Stallion 25,000lb Winch has been developed to meet that need.

Designed for larger, heavier and fully loaded trucks including Mitsubishi Canter and Isuzu NPS platforms, Ivecos, Unimogs and MAN trucks. Ideal for demanding 4x4, touring and heavy recovery applications, the Stallion delivers serious pulling power with Sherpa's characteristically robust and conservative approach to engineering. Rather than designing components to operate at their limits, Sherpa focuses on strength, durability and reliable performance under demanding loads.

Highly Recommended Extras:

• Sherpa 4x4 Fuse and Holder 500A Inline - Sherpa 4x4 recommends fitting appropriate circuit protection to all winch installations. For added electrical protection, a  500A inline fuse and heavy-duty fuse holder, suitable for use with Sherpa 4x4 winches, is also available.
• Sherpa 4x4 Winch Isolation Switches - Sherpa 4x4 recommends fitting a battery isolation switch to all winch installations. For added safety and convenience, a 500A continuous-rated battery isolation switch, suitable for use with Sherpa 4x4 winches, is also available.

Heavy-Duty 8.9HP Motor

At the heart of the Stallion is a powerful 8.9HP series-wound electric motor, matched to a purpose-selected gearbox ratio for strong pulling performance. Upgraded bushes and heavy-duty internal components help the winch withstand the substantial loads and stresses encountered during truck and heavy vehicle recovery.

Genuine Albright International Contactor

The Stallion is supplied with a genuine Albright International contactor pack, providing reliable high-current switching and excellent protection from harsh operating conditions. Sherpa uses genuine Albright components across its premium winch range because dependable electrics are critical when working under heavy load.

12V Option

The Stallion is available in both 12V configuration, making it suitable for a wide range of trucks, commercial vehicles and specialist recovery applications.

  Depending on the configuration selected, the Stallion can be supplied with an aluminium hawse fairlead for synthetic rope or a roller fairlead for steel cable. These help guide the winch line and reduce abrasion, particularly during angled recoveries. Offset aluminium hawse fairleads may also be available for selected installations.

Built for Serious Recovery

A winch is equipment you depend on when things have already gone wrong. Sherpa 4x4 focuses on quality motors, gearing, electrical components, sealing and braking systems to produce winches that are ready for demanding recovery situations.

Important: Winch rope or cable must be correctly tensioned and wound onto the drum under load before use. Refer to the Winch Cable/Rope section of the owner's manual for the correct installation, first-use and tensioning procedure.

Genuine Albright Solenoids

All Sherpa 4x4 winches come with genuine Albright solenoids! Incorporated into our electrics is a custom made version of the DC88P solenoid designed specifically by Albright International for the Sherpa 4x4 control boxes. With more than 70 years of experience in contactor design, Albright International is a recognised specialist in high-current contactors. Capable of handling up to 800 amps, almost twice the maximum capacity of the winch. Contact plating is second to none, increasing the duty cycle over other winches. As seen in our water submersion testing videos the Albright solenoids can be run for significant time under water without moisture ingress.

What is included in the Sherpa winch kits:

Synthetic Rope Models

-All cabling (5 cables are already incorporated into the control box, a separate earth cable is provided)

-Winch hook with strap

-Winch and control box mounting bolts

-Control box mounting brackets (In most cases the control box is flush mounted to the bulbar using bolts internal to the control box housing and DOES NOT require a bracket. See the winch manual on the Sherpa Data Sheets page for instructions on mounting. The brackets included allow you to mount the control box directly on top of the winch by attaching to the winch cross members).

Sherpa highly recommends the use of a winch dampener with all winches but it is essential with steel cable winches. It is best practice to use a battery isolation switch. This will make sure that nobody can interfere with your winch by crossing terminals on your winch or control box. This will also prevent shorting / sparking if the positive power cable were to be crushed and earthed in a collision.
