Description
The Sherpa 4x4 Universal Winch Mounting Plate provides a heavy-duty base for custom winch installations on 4WDs, trucks, trailers, campers and other suitable vehicles. Available in Regular Base and Large Base versions, the plate can be drilled, trimmed and customised by the installer to suit the winch and mounting structure.
Ideal where a conventional winch-compatible bullbar or mounting cradle isn't available, the plate provides a practical starting point for front, rear and custom winch installations.
Winch and fairlead are not included.
Sherpa 4x4 Universal Winch Mounting Plate
The Sherpa 4x4 Universal Winch Mounting Plate is designed for custom winch installations where a purpose-built winch bar or mounting cradle is not available.
The winch mounting area is designed to be customised by the installer, allowing holes to be positioned to suit the specific winch installation rather than relying on a single pre-set winch mounting pattern.

Regular & Large Base Options
Two main mounting plate sizes are available to accommodate different winch dimensions and installation requirements.
Regular Base: Designed for many conventional-sized electric winches where the available mounting space and winch dimensions are compatible with the plate.
Large Base: Provides additional mounting area for larger winches and custom installations, including larger Sherpa winch models where additional base dimensions are required.
Do not select a mounting plate based on winch capacity alone. Compare the physical dimensions of your winch, mounting structure and fairlead arrangement with the applicable CAD drawing before ordering.

Designed for Custom Installation
This is a universal fabrication component rather than a vehicle-specific bolt-on winch mount.
The installer must determine the appropriate position of the winch and mounting holes to suit the winch, vehicle and supporting structure.

Winch & Fairlead Mounting
The plate provides the base for mounting the winch, while the front section incorporates provision for fitting a compatible hawse or roller fairlead.
The required winch mounting holes should be measured and drilled to suit the specific winch and installation.
Winch, hawse fairlead and roller fairlead are not included. Fairleads shown in product images are for demonstration purposes only.

Check Dimensions Before Ordering
Scintex cannot confirm whether a universal mounting plate will fit a particular vehicle, bullbar, chassis or custom installation.
Before ordering, review the applicable CAD drawing and compare the plate dimensions with:
- Your winch dimensions and mounting pattern
- Available mounting space
- Chassis or supporting structure
- Fairlead position
- Rope or cable path
- Access for mounting bolts
- Surrounding bodywork and bumper clearance
Example Customer Installation
The installation shown below uses a Sherpa Stallion 25,000lb winch with a Large Base mounting plate. The customer trimmed the plate to suit the available space and mounted it between the chassis rails as part of a custom installation.

Important Installation Information
A winch can generate very high loads through the mounting plate and supporting vehicle structure. The mounting plate must be securely attached to a structure capable of handling the loads generated during winching.
Appropriate high-strength fasteners, reinforcement and fabrication methods should be used for the installation. Where cutting, drilling, welding or structural modification is required, installation should be completed by a suitably competent person.
After modifying or drilling the plate, exposed steel should be suitably treated to help protect against corrosion.
Before operating the winch, confirm the winch, mounting plate, fasteners, supporting structure, fairlead and other recovery components are correctly installed and suitable for the intended application.
