Description
Sherpa 4x4 Soft Recovery Shackles provide a lightweight alternative to conventional steel shackles for suitable vehicle recovery applications. Made from high-strength synthetic rope, these soft shackles are easy to carry, resistant to corrosion and can be wrapped around compatible recovery points where a rigid steel shackle may be difficult to fit.
Two sizes are available, with Minimum Breaking Strength ratings of 35,000lb (15,909kg) and 71,280lb (32,400kg).

35,000lb Soft Recovery Shackle
The 10mm / 3/8" Sherpa soft shackle is manufactured using genuine USA Spectra® fibre and has a stated Minimum Breaking Strength of 35,000lb / 15,909kg.
Its compact 152mm loop diameter makes it suitable for many common 4WD recovery applications where a smaller soft shackle is preferred.
71,280lb Heavy-Duty Soft Recovery Shackle
The larger 16mm / 5/8" model has a stated Minimum Breaking Strength of 71,280lb / 32,400kg.
With a larger 600mm loop diameter and 1900mm overall length, this model provides additional size and capacity for demanding recovery setups and larger connection points.
Flexible Recovery Connection
Unlike a rigid steel shackle, a soft shackle can conform around compatible recovery points and other suitable attachment locations. This flexibility can make installation easier where access is restricted or the connection geometry does not suit a conventional shackle.
Always ensure the surface contacting the soft shackle is smooth and free from sharp edges, burrs or other features that could cut or abrade the synthetic rope.
Lightweight & Corrosion Resistant
Soft shackles are significantly lighter than comparable steel recovery hardware and are easy to store in a vehicle recovery kit.
The synthetic construction will not rust and the shackles float in water, making them particularly convenient for wet, muddy and river-crossing recovery environments.
Protective Sleeve
Each Sherpa soft shackle includes a protective sleeve designed to help reduce abrasion at the point where the shackle contacts the recovery point.
The sleeve should be positioned over the highest-wear area wherever practical and inspected along with the rope before and after use.

Using Soft Shackles Safely
Only connect a soft shackle to a recovery point or component that is suitable for the intended recovery load. All components in the recovery system should be correctly rated and inspected before use.
Do not use a soft shackle over sharp edges or damaged recovery points. Replace the shackle if the rope or protective sleeve shows significant cuts, abrasion, heat damage or other deterioration.
Keep people clear of the recovery area and follow appropriate vehicle recovery procedures at all times.
