Compact Round Bales for Easier Handling
The Paddock™ mini baler is designed to produce compact round bales approximately 60cm in diameter and 70cm long, with typical bale weights of 20–30kg. This manageable bale size makes it easier to lift, transport and store bales without requiring the larger handling equipment associated with conventional round bales.
This makes the mini baler particularly useful for acreage owners and farmers wanting to produce and store their own hay or stock feed in convenient quantities.
Tractor Compatibility
The Paddock™ mini baler is designed for use with Category I three point linkage tractors in the recommended 18–50 HP power range. It operates from a standard 540 RPM PTO and is suitable for a wide range of compatible tractors, including commonly used brands such as Case, John Deere, Kubota and Massey Ferguson.
The baler is supplied with a standard 6-spline PTO shaft and Category I pins.
Preparing Hay for Baling
Once the grass, straw or hay has been cut and suitably prepared for baling, the material should be formed into windrows using a wheel rake or similar implement. Some tractor mowers and slashers may also be capable of directing cut material into rows.
The baler has an 80cm working width, so appropriately sized and consistent windrows help provide efficient pickup and baling.
Automatic Twine Binding & Bale Ejection
The Paddock™ mini baler incorporates an automatic twine binding and bale ejection system to simplify operation. Two rolls of suitable baling twine can be loaded into the onboard compartment and fed through the binding mechanism according to the operating instructions.
An electrical control cable with an alarm and bale ejection switch is routed to the tractor operator. When the bale reaches the required size, the alarm alerts the operator. The tractor is stopped and the bale ejection control activated, allowing the baler to complete the binding process, cut the twine and eject the finished bale.
Once the bale has been discharged, baling can continue without the operator needing to manually remove the finished bale from the machine. The baler also incorporates protection to help prevent an oversized bale from damaging the machine if ejection is not activated in sufficient time.
Heavy Duty Farm Machinery
Hay balers contain numerous moving components, making construction quality, component selection and correct maintenance particularly important. The Paddock™ mini baler is designed as a heavy duty farm implement with replacement parts and product support available through Paddock Machinery in Australia.
Recommended Hay Baling Equipment
The Paddock™ Tractor Wheel Rakes and baling twine are ideal companions for this mini baler.
