Description
The Paddock 600L Tractor PTO Seed & Fertiliser Spreader is a heavy duty agricultural spreader designed for Category I tractors with a standard 540 RPM PTO. With a large stainless steel hopper, adjustable spread pattern and dual flow controls, it is ideal for efficiently distributing seed, fertiliser and other compatible granular materials across farms, paddocks and acreages.
A spread diameter of up to 12 metres allows large areas to be covered quickly, while the adjustable paddles and two-stage flow control system give the operator excellent control over product distribution.
Paddock 600L Tractor PTO Seed & Fertiliser Spreader
- 600L stainless steel hopper
- Designed for Category I tractors
- Standard 540 RPM PTO input
- Suitable for tractors in the 20-55HP range
- Spread diameter adjustable from approximately 2-12m
- Dual flow control system for coarse and fine adjustment
- Four spreading paddles adjustable through five angle positions
- Suitable for seeds, fertilisers, fine sands and compatible granular products
- Sealed low-maintenance gearbox

Cover Large Areas Efficiently
The Paddock PTO spreader is designed for efficiently treating larger paddocks, fields and properties where smaller tow-behind or hand-push spreaders are impractical.
With a 600L hopper capacity and spread diameter of up to approximately 12m, the spreader can cover substantial areas with fewer stops for refilling.
Typical applications include:
- Grass and pasture seed spreading
- Fertiliser application
- Soil amendment distribution
- Fine sand spreading
- Farm and acreage maintenance
- Pasture improvement
- Large lawn and landscape applications
Category I Tractor Compatibility
The spreader is designed for tractors fitted with a standard Category I three point linkage and 540 RPM PTO.
The listed tractor power range is approximately 20-55HP, making the unit suitable for many compact and mid-size agricultural tractors.
The universal Cat I layout means the spreader can be used with many common tractor brands, provided the tractor's linkage dimensions, PTO configuration and lifting capacity are suitable.
Always confirm your tractor specifications before ordering.
Dual Flow Control
The Paddock spreader uses two separate controls to give the operator greater control over the amount of seed or fertiliser being discharged.
Coarse Adjustment: A 10-position lever mounted on the spreader provides the main flow setting.
Fine Adjustment: A cable-operated control can be positioned closer to the tractor operator and allows finer adjustment during use.
Adjustment nuts allow the fully open and fully closed positions to be set to suit the material being spread.
This two-stage system makes it easier to match the discharge rate to the application and the characteristics of the particular seed or fertiliser being used.
Adjustable Spreading Paddles
The PTO drives a four-paddle spreading mechanism beneath the hopper. Each paddle can be adjusted through five angle positions, allowing the spread pattern to be tuned to suit different materials and operating conditions.
Depending on the product, tractor speed and paddle setting, the spread diameter can be adjusted from approximately 2m through to 12m.
As with all broadcast spreaders, actual spread width and distribution will vary depending on the density, particle size and flow characteristics of the product being applied.
Stainless Steel Hopper
The large 600L hopper is manufactured from 1.5mm Grade 201 stainless steel.
This provides excellent durability for outdoor agricultural use and improved resistance to corrosion compared with ordinary painted steel hoppers, particularly when handling fertilisers and similar granular products.
The stainless steel construction also avoids the UV degradation associated with many plastic hopper designs.
Low-Maintenance PTO Drive
The spreader incorporates a sealed gearbox designed for low-maintenance operation.
Routine maintenance is straightforward and primarily involves checking fasteners, lightly lubricating control cables as required and greasing the PTO shaft and associated grease points in accordance with the operating instructions.
Keeping the hopper and spreading components clean after handling fertiliser will also help maximise service life.
PTO Shaft & Linkage Included
The spreader is supplied with a standard 6-spline PTO shaft and Category I linkage pins, providing the main components required to connect the unit to a compatible tractor.
Depending on the tractor configuration, the PTO shaft length should be checked before operation to ensure sufficient engagement and compression clearance throughout the full movement of the three point linkage.
Product Support & Spare Parts
Paddock Machinery supports the spreader range with spare and replacement parts available through its Australian support network.

Before First Use
Tractor compatibility: Confirm your tractor has a Category I three point linkage, 540 RPM PTO and sufficient lifting capacity for the spreader and intended hopper load.
PTO setup: Check PTO shaft length and alignment before operation. The shaft must have sufficient overlap while also allowing adequate compression clearance throughout the full linkage travel.
Material calibration: Different seeds and fertilisers flow at different rates. Begin with a conservative flow setting and test the spread pattern and application rate before treating a large area.
Cleaning: Fertilisers can be corrosive. Clean the hopper, spreading paddles and surrounding components after use and allow the machine to dry before storage.
Assembly: Some basic assembly is required before operation as the unit is supplied partially disassembled for transport.
