Heavy Duty Slashing for Farms & Acreages
This 6ft slasher is designed for property owners, farmers and commercial operators who need to efficiently maintain larger grassed areas.
Typical applications include:
- Farm paddocks
- Acreages
- Mine sites
- Golf courses
- Equine centres
- Parklands
- Schools
- Camping grounds
- Caravan parks
- Roadside maintenance
- General property maintenance
1760mm Cutting Width
The approximately 1760mm cutting width provides a good balance between mowing productivity and manoeuvrability.
Six-foot slashers are a popular choice for medium-to-large tractors because they can cover significant ground while remaining manageable around gateways, trees, sheds and other farm infrastructure.
Heavy Duty Galvanised Steel Deck
The slasher uses a 5mm thick galvanised steel deck designed for demanding outdoor use.
Galvanised construction provides additional corrosion resistance compared with untreated steel and is particularly useful for machinery that spends its working life exposed to grass, moisture, dirt and weather.
Adjustable Cutting Height
The mowing height can be configured in three positions:
- 30mm
- 70mm
- 105mm
Height adjustment is achieved by changing the side skid position, allowing the slasher to be configured for different ground conditions and mowing requirements.
The tractor three-point linkage also provides additional control over implement position during operation.
Top-Link Chains for Uneven Ground
The top-link chain arrangement allows additional movement between the tractor and slasher when travelling over undulating terrain.
This helps the implement follow variations in the ground rather than remaining completely rigid behind the tractor.
Benefits can include:
- Improved performance over uneven terrain
- Reduced tendency for the deck to dig into ground contours
- More consistent mowing height
- Reduced unnecessary blade and skid contact
Twin Rear Trailing Wheels Included
The slasher is supplied with two rear trailing wheels as standard.
The trailing wheels support the rear of the deck and help the slasher follow the ground during operation, particularly over uneven paddocks and changing terrain.
Trailing Wheel Kit Included
Twin Step-Down Cutting Blades
The rotary cutting system uses two replaceable blades driven from the central gearbox.
The step-down blade arrangement helps position the cutting edges appropriately below the deck while providing the robust construction required for paddock slashing.
Replacement blades and other service parts are available through Scintex.
PTO Safety Slip Clutch Included
A PTO safety slip clutch is supplied as standard.
The slip clutch provides driveline protection by allowing controlled slip if the blades encounter a sudden heavy load or obstruction. This can help reduce shock loading through the tractor PTO, shaft, gearbox and slasher driveline.
Includes PTO shaft with safety slip clutch

PTO Gearbox Protection
The PTO gearbox is protected by a guard during normal operation.
The guard can be moved to provide access when gearbox inspection and maintenance are required.
The gearbox must contain the correct oil before operation and should be checked as part of routine maintenance.
Tractor Compatibility
The Paddock 6ft slasher is configured for Category I or Category II three-point linkage and operates from a standard 540 RPM PTO.
The supplied specification recommends tractors in approximately the 75-100HP range.
Actual suitability will also depend on tractor weight, lift capacity, PTO output, terrain and operating conditions. Always confirm your tractor can safely carry and operate a 535kg implement before purchase.

Why Use a Rotary Slasher?
A rotary tractor slasher is designed for larger and rougher grassed areas where a conventional finishing mower may not be the best tool.
The heavy rotating blades are suited to general paddock maintenance, longer grass and property cleanup applications where a highly manicured lawn finish is not the primary objective.
The simple mechanical design also makes rotary slashers durable and relatively easy to maintain.
Routine Maintenance
Regular inspection and servicing will help keep the slasher operating reliably.
- Check gearbox oil level
- Grease lubrication points as specified
- Inspect cutting blades for wear or damage
- Check blade mounting hardware
- Inspect the PTO shaft and guards
- Inspect and adjust the slip clutch as required
- Check trailing wheels and bearings
- Inspect stone guards
- Check three-point linkage pins and fasteners
Important PTO Safety
Always ensure the PTO shaft guards, gearbox guard and stone guards are correctly fitted before operation.
Keep people and animals well clear while the slasher is operating, as rotary cutting equipment can throw stones, sticks and other debris.
Before inspecting, adjusting or servicing the slasher:
- Lower the implement to a safe position
- Disengage the PTO
- Stop the tractor engine
- Remove the ignition key
- Allow the blades to stop completely
Important Initial Setup
Gearbox oil must be added and checked before first use. Do not operate the slasher until the gearbox has been filled to the correct level with the specified lubricant.
Some simple assembly is required before use due to the way the slasher is packed for storage and transport.
All spare parts and technical support are available through Scintex in Brisbane.
