Description
The Paddock™ Walk Behind Tractor Rotary Tiller Attachment provides powered soil cultivation using the PTO output of a compatible Paddock™ Walk Behind Tractor. Available in 650mm and 900mm working widths, the tiller is designed for preparing garden beds, cropping areas, farms and other cultivated ground.
Heavy-duty heat-treated steel tines work the soil to an adjustable depth of up to approximately 150mm, helping break up compacted ground and mix soil, fertiliser and organic material prior to planting.
Walk Behind Tractor not included – tiller attachment only.
Paddock™ Walk Behind Tractor Rotary Tiller Attachment
Designed for the Paddock™ Walk Behind Tractor, this PTO-driven rotary tiller provides a practical solution for soil preparation and cultivation.
The attachment connects using the walk behind tractor's quick-connect coupling system, allowing it to be interchanged with other compatible Paddock™ attachments.
Rotary Tiller Features

- PTO-driven rotary tiller
- 650mm and 900mm width options
- Adjustable tilling depth from approximately 10–150mm
- Quick-connect attachment system
- Heat-treated steel tines
- 20 tines on 650mm model
- 28 tines on 900mm model
- Heavy-duty oil-bath gearbox

650mm & 900mm Tiller Options
Two working widths are available to suit different cultivation requirements:
- 650mm Tiller – 20 heat-treated steel tines
- 900mm Tiller – 28 heat-treated steel tines
The narrower 650mm version is useful where access or manoeuvrability is important, while the 900mm version covers more ground per pass in larger open areas.
Adjustable Tilling Depth
The working depth can be adjusted from approximately 10mm through to 150mm, allowing the operator to adapt the tiller to different soil preparation tasks and ground conditions.
Actual working depth will depend on soil type, moisture content, compaction, existing vegetation, rocks, roots and operating conditions.
PTO Driven
The rotary tiller is mechanically powered from the walk behind tractor's PTO system. Power from the tractor drives the tiller gearbox and rotating tine assembly to cultivate the soil.
No separate engine is required on the tiller attachment.
Quick-Connect Attachment System
The tiller is designed for the quick-connect coupling system used on compatible Paddock™ Walk Behind Tractors.
This allows the operator to change between the rotary tiller and other compatible attachments without converting the tractor to a dedicated tilling machine.
Heavy-Duty Tines & Oil-Bath Gearbox
The tiller uses heat-treated steel tines for soil cultivation, with 20 tines fitted to the 650mm model and 28 fitted to the 900mm model.
An oil-bath gearbox transfers power from the tractor PTO to the tine assembly and is designed to be serviceable as part of normal equipment maintenance.
Typical Applications
- Vegetable gardens
- Market gardens
- Small farms and cropping areas
- Garden bed preparation
- Soil cultivation
- Breaking up previously worked ground
- Mixing fertiliser or organic material into soil
- Preparing soil before planting or seeding
- Acreage and property maintenance
Benefits of Rotary Tilling
When used appropriately for the soil and application, rotary tilling can assist with:
- Breaking up and loosening cultivated soil
- Preparing planting and seed beds
- Mixing fertilisers and organic material through the upper soil layer
- Incorporating existing surface vegetation
- Preparing ground prior to planting
- Improving the consistency of previously worked soil
The suitability and frequency of tilling will depend on the soil type, crop, moisture level and land-management practices.

Initial Setup & Maintenance
The tiller gearbox is stored and transported with only sufficient oil for storage protection. The gearbox must be correctly filled with the specified lubricant before operation.
Some assembly may also be required following transport.
Before use, check the gearbox oil level, attachment coupling, guards, tines, fasteners and other components in accordance with the operating instructions.
Inspect the working area for rocks, buried objects, irrigation equipment and other hazards before tilling. Confirm the location of underground services before cultivating unfamiliar ground.
