Additionally, diesel engines are less susceptible to drawing in moisture and corrosion, making them more reliable for for emergency back-up power supplies.

You must also consider the peak start up power draw from the appliances to ensure your generator doesn't trip as a result of a high initial start up load. This is especially important for high start up load equipment such as welders and pumps.
