Description

Convert a compatible pressure washer into a high-flow sludge and dirty water transfer system with the Paddock™ Pressure Washer Sludge Sucker Kit. Using venturi action rather than a conventional motor-driven pump, the sludge sucker has no moving pumping components to clog or jam and is ideal for emptying pits, sumps, troughs, drains and other areas containing dirty water and sludge.

Paddock Pressure Washer Sludge Sucker Pump Kit

Paddock™ Pressure Washer Sludge Sucker Pump Kit

The Paddock™ SFT10040 uses the high-pressure water flow from a compatible pressure washer to create a venturi suction effect, allowing dirty water and sludge to be transferred without using a conventional impeller or electrically driven pump.

This makes it particularly useful after pressure washing pits, drains, sumps, cattle troughs and other areas where dirty wastewater needs to be removed.

Sludge Sucker Features
  • Converts a compatible pressure washer into a sludge and dirty water transfer system
  • Venturi-operated design with no moving pumping components
  • Indicative transfer rates up to approximately 300 L/min with a suitable pressure washer
  • Designed around approximately 17 L/min pressure washer input flow
  • Maximum recommended pressure of 4,000 PSI (275 bar)
  • Suitable for dirty water and sludge transfer
  • Can operate without the dry-running concerns associated with conventional motor-driven pumps
  • 1-1/2" discharge hose connection
  • Includes 5m of 1-1/2" EVA discharge hose
  • M22 male inlet with 1/4" quick-connect plug fitting
  • Maximum fluid temperature of 90°C
  • Glass-filled polypropylene and brass construction
  • Simple connection to compatible pressure washer equipment
How the Sludge Sucker Works

The sludge sucker uses the pressure washer's high-pressure water flow to generate a venturi effect inside the pump body. This creates suction at the pickup end, drawing surrounding liquid and sludge into the unit and discharging the combined flow through the 1-1/2" outlet hose.

Because the sludge sucker does not rely on an impeller or other conventional moving pumping components, it is well suited to transferring dirty fluids that can be difficult for some standard pumps to handle.

High-Flow Sludge & Dirty Water Transfer

When paired with a suitable pressure washer delivering approximately 17 L/min, transfer rates of around 300 L/min may be achievable under suitable operating conditions.

Actual transfer performance will vary depending on the pressure washer's flow and pressure, suction lift, discharge hose arrangement, fluid consistency and overall operating conditions.

For best results, use a pressure washer capable of supplying the required flow and avoid unnecessary restrictions in the discharge hose.

No Conventional Pump Motor or Impeller

The venturi design means there is no electric motor or rotating impeller within the sludge sucker itself. This reduces the number of moving components exposed to dirty water and sludge.

The design also means the sludge sucker can continue operating as the liquid level becomes low without the same dry-running and overheating concerns associated with many conventional motor-driven pumps.

Typical Applications
  • Pumping dirty water from sumps and pits
  • Cleaning and emptying cattle troughs
  • Drain and wastewater removal
  • Removing wash-down water
  • Basement and low-point water removal
  • Construction and maintenance clean-up
  • Removing sludge and sediment-laden water after pressure washing
Pressure Washer Connection

The SFT10040 features an M22 male inlet and is supplied with a 1/4" quick-connect plug fitting for connection to compatible pressure washer equipment.

Different pressure washer manufacturers use different hose, gun and lance connections. Additional adaptors may therefore be required when connecting the sludge sucker to some machines.

Scintex stocks a range of pressure washer fittings and adaptors to assist with connecting equipment from brands including Karcher, Gerni, Bosch and others.

Important Operating Information

Maximum recommended pressure is 4,000 PSI (275 bar). Do not connect the sludge sucker to pressure washer equipment that exceeds the rated pressure of the sludge sucker, fittings or associated hoses.

Actual pumping performance depends on the pressure washer and installation. A machine producing approximately 17 L/min provides a useful reference point for achieving high transfer rates.

The sludge sucker is intended for transferring compatible dirty water and sludge. Avoid drawing in objects or debris that are too large to safely pass through the suction and discharge path.

Saves hours, solves problem

This pressure washer attachment is amazing!
I own a domestic Karcher k3 and used this "Sludge Sucker" to clean out my 2x Rain Water Tanks and large outdoor fish pond.
The fishpond used to take 2 days with a garden-hose sucker attachment, this gadget did the same job in 2 hours!!
My 15 year old poly rainwater tanks have never been cleaned, and they were gross, it took just half a day to bring them back to brand new.
Needless to say that I recommend this however it is worth going to your local hardware store to get some longer drainage hose to pump the sludge further away.
However, be aware that the "pumping head-height" of this attachment will be determined by the power of your pressure cleaner. My k3 struggled to pump the 2.4m head-height out of the tank inspection hatch, although with some syphoning and pumping the attacment up and down, I was able to get it to work, but I don't doubt that a more capable pressure cleaner would not find this to be a problem.
I'm very pleased with this purchase, I highly recommend it, and I have shown it to quite a few people.

AWESOME BIT OF KIT!!

The sludge sucker kit is put together really well. and looking forward to using it. It will definitely come in handy on jobs that require an easy to use light weight pump.

Sludge Pump

This is a good option to have if you've got a decent size pressure washer. Water primes almost instantly, get's good flow and a much cheaper alternative for draining on building sites than renting sub pumps.
