Description
The Scintex 240V Gear Oil Pumps are industrial quality positive-displacement pumps designed for transferring oils, lubricants and other compatible high-viscosity fluids. Available in 9 L/min and 14 L/min versions, these pumps are well suited to workshops, farms, service vehicles and industrial maintenance applications.
Typical fluids include engine oil, motor oil, gearbox oil, differential oil, hydraulic oil, vegetable oil and other compatible lubricants. For applications requiring greater flow, Scintex also supplies a high flow gear oil pump.

Designed for Oils & Lubricants
Gear pumps are particularly well suited to transferring oils because their positive displacement design can move fluids with considerably higher viscosity than many centrifugal pumps.
The closely fitted internal gears trap and move fluid through the pump body, producing consistent flow and useful discharge pressure.

9 L/min or 14 L/min Models
The two models offer different combinations of flow and discharge pressure.
The SPGP09ALPM provides a nominal flow of 9 L/min and a higher maximum pressure rating of 25 bar / 362 psi.
The SPGP14LPM provides a higher nominal flow of 14 L/min with a maximum pressure rating of 12 bar / 174 psi.

Positive Displacement Gear Pump
The internal gear arrangement provides good suction performance and allows the pump to handle oils with viscosity up to approximately 2,000 cSt / 10,000 SUS.
Actual flow rate will vary with fluid viscosity, temperature, suction conditions and discharge pressure.
Cold oil becomes significantly more viscous, so pump flow may be reduced when transferring thick lubricants at low temperatures.
Integrated Bypass Valve
An internal bypass valve is incorporated into the pump design to help protect the pump if the discharge is temporarily restricted or closed.
The bypass should be considered a short-term protection feature rather than a normal operating mode. Extended operation with the discharge closed can cause fluid temperature to rise and may damage the pump or product being transferred.
Continuous Duty 240V Motor
Both models use a 1,000W, 240V single phase motor with an IP55 protection rating.
The continuous-duty motor makes the pump suitable for regular workshop and industrial transfer tasks when operated within the pump's pressure, temperature and viscosity limits.
Keep the Pumped Oil Clean
Gear pumps require clean fluid. The close internal clearances which allow these pumps to efficiently transfer high-viscosity oils also make them sensitive to solids and contamination.
Dirt, metal particles or other debris can become trapped between the gears and pump body, potentially jamming or damaging the pump.
For this reason, Scintex recommends installing a suitable suction strainer or filter whenever fluid cleanliness cannot be guaranteed.
Suction Performance
The pumps have a priming height of approximately 2m and a maximum suction lift of approximately 3m under suitable operating conditions.
For best performance:
- Keep the suction hose as short as practical
- Use adequately sized hose or pipe
- Minimise elbows and restrictions
- Ensure all suction fittings are airtight
- Position the pump as close to the oil source as practical
- Use a suitable suction strainer

Important Operating Notes
Fluid compatibility: Confirm the oil or lubricant is chemically compatible with the pump materials before use.
Clean fluids only: Do not use the pump for oils containing metal fragments, grit, sludge or other solids. A suitable suction filter or strainer is strongly recommended.
Viscosity: Maximum stated viscosity is approximately 2,000 cSt / 10,000 SUS. Very cold oils may exceed this limit.
Bypass operation: Do not leave the pump operating for extended periods against a closed discharge, even though a bypass valve is fitted.
Electrical supply: Use the pump only with a suitable 240V power supply and installation appropriate to the operating environment.
