Description

High-flow submersible bilge pumps for boats, yachts and other marine applications. Available in 1,100, 2,000 and 4,000 GPH models with 12V and/or 24V options, these compact pumps feature corrosion-resistant thermoplastic bodies, stainless steel shafts and removable strainers for easy cleaning.

12V & 24V Marine Bilge Pumps – 1,100 to 4,000 GPH

Designed for removing nuisance water from boat bilges and other suitable water transfer applications, these submersible electric pumps combine high flow rates with compact, corrosion-resistant construction.

Three pump sizes are available to suit different installation and flow requirements. The compact SBP1100 incorporates an automatic float switch, while the larger SBP2000 and SBP4000 can be combined with a suitable external float switch when automatic operation is required.

SBP1100 – Automatic 1,100 GPH Bilge Pump

The SBP1100 is a compact 24V bilge pump with an integrated automatic float switch. When correctly installed and wired, the float switch can activate the pump as the bilge water level rises and switch it off again as the water level falls.

Integrating the float switch into the pump provides a compact installation and eliminates the need to mount a separate external float switch. The wiring arrangement also allows for manual override when connected to a suitable switch panel.

With a rated flow of 1,100 GPH (4,164 L/hr) and approximately 1,050 GPH (3,974 L/hr) at 1m discharge head, the SBP1100 is suited to applications where compact automatic bilge pumping is required.

SBP2000 – 2,000 GPH Bilge Pump

The SBP2000 is a higher-capacity 12V pump with a rated flow of 2,000 GPH (7,570 L/hr). At 1m discharge head, the stated flow is approximately 1,740 GPH (6,585 L/hr).

This model uses a traditional bilge pump configuration without an integrated float switch. It can be operated manually through a suitable switch panel or combined with an external float switch for automatic operation.

SBP4000 – High-Flow 4,000 GPH Bilge Pump

For applications requiring greater pumping capacity, the SBP4000 provides a rated flow of up to 4,000 GPH (15,141 L/hr) and is available in both 12V and 24V versions.

The larger motor and 2" discharge allow higher water transfer rates, with a stated flow of approximately 2,960 GPH (13,038 L/hr) at 1m discharge head.

Like the SBP2000, automatic operation requires a suitable external float switch.

Designed for Marine Installations

The pumps feature moulded thermoplastic bodies, stainless steel shafts and sealed electrical construction suited to bilge pumping applications. The removable strainer provides access for routine inspection and cleaning of accumulated debris.

When installing any bilge pump, ensure the pump, discharge hose, electrical supply, fuse protection and switching arrangement are correctly sized for the application.

Typical Applications
  • Fishing boat bilges
  • Sailing yachts
  • Recreational boats
  • Marine nuisance-water removal
  • Suitable onboard water transfer applications

Flow Note: Pump flow reduces as discharge head and system resistance increase. Actual installed flow will depend on hose diameter and length, vertical lift, fittings, bends, electrical supply and installation conditions.

Automatic & Manual Bilge Pump Operation

The SBP1100 incorporates its own float switch for automatic operation. The SBP2000 and SBP4000 require an external float switch if automatic water-level control is required.

A manual switch or appropriately configured switch panel can also be incorporated into the electrical installation where manual pump control or override is required.

Optional Bilge Pump Float Switch

For automatic operation of compatible models, Scintex stocks a separate bilge pump float switch.

Installation Considerations

Correct installation is important for bilge pump performance. Use appropriately sized discharge hose and minimise unnecessary restrictions, sharp bends and excessive vertical lift where practical.

Electrical wiring, switches and circuit protection should be appropriately rated for the selected pump and installation. Ensure electrical connections are protected against moisture and corrosion and follow applicable marine electrical installation requirements.

Inspect and test the bilge pumping system regularly. Keep the pump strainer and surrounding bilge area clear of debris that could restrict water flow or interfere with automatic switching.

Important: A bilge pump is one component of a vessel's water-management system and should not be relied upon as the sole means of protecting a vessel from flooding. Pump selection and installation should be appropriate for the vessel and intended operating conditions.
