Description

The Paddock™ range of submersible borehole water pumps delivers high pressure and reliable water transfer from bores, wells and other deep water sources. Available in 3" and 4" diameter models with different flow and head characteristics, there is an option to suit applications ranging from stock watering and domestic water supply through to irrigation.

These 240V single phase multistage pumps feature stainless steel construction, a 40m motor cable and an included control box. Their narrow design makes them ideal for new installations or replacing existing bore pumps where space is limited.

  • High pressure multistage submersible pump design
  • 3" and 4" diameter models available
  • Flow rates up to 350 L/min depending on model and operating head
  • Heads approaching 200m available on selected models
  • 240V single phase operation
  • 40m motor cable supplied
  • Control box included
  • Stainless steel wetted construction
  • Oil-filled motor using food-grade oil
  • Motor overload protection
  • Suitable for stock water, domestic supply and irrigation applications
  • Serviceable modular construction with spare parts available in Australia

Important: These pumps require electrical installation by a licensed electrician.

Submersible Bore Water Pump Applications

Paddock™ bore pumps are designed to operate submerged in a bore or well and provide the pressure required to lift water to the surface and deliver it through the downstream pipe network.

Typical applications include:

  • Domestic bore water supply
  • Stock and livestock watering
  • Water transfer to storage tanks
  • Farm and acreage water systems
  • Irrigation systems
  • Remote trough filling
  • Deep well and bore water extraction

The range includes models configured for either high head or high flow, allowing the pump to be selected to suit the requirements of the installation.

Multistage Pump Design

These are multistage centrifugal pumps which use a series of stacked impellers to progressively increase water pressure. This design produces smooth, consistent flow while allowing substantial discharge heads to be generated from a relatively narrow pump.

The pumps are designed primarily for clean water applications. They can tolerate a limited amount of sand and fine solids as detailed in the specifications below; however, cleaner water will generally provide the best performance and longest service life.

Designed for Narrow Bores

The slimline design makes these pumps particularly useful for installation in water bores where internal diameter is restricted.

The SPWP02246 3" model has a pump diameter of approximately 75mm, making it suitable for appropriately sized narrow bore installations. The larger SPWP04028 and SPWP01611 models are approximately 100mm in diameter.

Always confirm the actual internal diameter and clearances of the bore casing before selecting a pump.

High Head & High Flow Options

Selecting the correct bore pump requires consideration of both the required flow rate and total dynamic head.

The SPWP02246 and SPWP04028 models are particularly suited to applications requiring very high discharge heads. The SPWP01611 provides significantly higher flow rates at lower heads, making it better suited to high-volume water transfer and irrigation applications where extreme pressure is not required.

Model Best Suited To Maximum Listed Flow Point Maximum Listed Head Point
SPWP02246 High head / lower flow 45 L/min @ 83m 194m @ 5 L/min
SPWP04028 High head / medium flow 100 L/min @ 64m 197m @ 10 L/min
SPWP01611 High flow / lower head 350 L/min @ 24m 64m @ 50 L/min

Note: Pump flow and head are directly related. The figures above are individual points from the pump performance data and should not be interpreted as the pump simultaneously producing its highest listed flow and highest listed head.

Understanding Pump Head & Pressure

Pump head describes the height of a column of water that the pump can support and is commonly expressed in metres. For water, approximately 10m of head is equivalent to 98 kPa or 14.2 PSI before allowing for system losses.

For example, 70m of water head is approximately:

  • 686 kPa
  • 6.86 bar
  • 99.5 PSI

However, the pump must overcome more than just the vertical elevation. Pipe friction, fittings, valves and the required pressure at the final outlet must also be considered when sizing a bore pump.

Selecting the Correct Bore Pump

When selecting a pump, consider:

  • Depth from the operating water level to the pump
  • Vertical elevation from the water level to the discharge point
  • Required flow rate
  • Required pressure at the final outlet
  • Pipe diameter and total pipe length
  • Friction losses through pipework, valves and fittings
  • Bore casing internal diameter
  • Available bore yield and recovery rate

A pump should be selected based on its performance at the required operating head rather than simply choosing the model with the highest maximum flow or head specification.

Pump Construction & Quality

Paddock™ bore pumps use quality components and stainless steel construction to provide a durable pumping solution for demanding installations.

Features include upgraded mechanical seals, NSK motor bearings and heavy-duty electrical cabling. Each pump is supplied with 40m of motor cable to simplify installation in deep bore applications.

The motor is oil-filled using food-grade oil and is designed to operate submerged. Pumps are factory tested prior to supply, including pressurised leak testing as part of the manufacturing quality assurance process.

Control Box Included

Each pump is supplied with a control box for operation of the single phase pump motor. The system can also be incorporated into a more comprehensive water control installation where required.

Depending on the application, level switches or a suitable smart pump controller can be added to provide additional protection against conditions such as loss of water or dry running.

Dry Running Protection

These pumps rely on the surrounding water to assist with motor cooling and must remain submerged during operation. They are not designed for continuous operation out of water.

Where there is a risk that the bore or well water level could fall below the pump, appropriate dry-running protection should be incorporated into the installation.

Serviceable Modular Design

The modular construction allows the motor to be separated from the pump wet end, improving serviceability compared with fully integrated pump designs.

Scintex stocks a range of spare parts for these pumps in Australia, helping reduce downtime for agricultural and other critical water supply applications.

Accessories for Bore Pump Systems

Scintex supplies a range of accessories which can be incorporated into bore, well and water transfer systems:

Important Installation Information

Electrical installation: These are 220-240V AC pumps and electrical installation must be completed by a licensed electrician.

Submerged operation: The pump must remain adequately submerged during operation. Appropriate level or dry-running protection is recommended where bore water levels can fluctuate.

Pump sizing: Check the required flow, total dynamic head, bore yield and bore diameter before selecting a model. Actual system performance will depend on the complete installation including elevation, pipe size, pipe length, fittings and outlet pressure requirements.

Water quality: These pumps are intended primarily for clean water. Although limited fine solids can be tolerated within the specifications above, excessive sand or abrasive material can accelerate pump wear.

Great pumps and great service

I am a plumbing contractor and will definitely be selling Scintex pumps from now on. I have installed the solar bore pump on my farm and after quick help with a warranty issue and great service I have a pump, pumping water from 100 meters deep with the power of six solar panels.

Sub pump

I purchased this pump without fully appreciating the size. It's a big solid pump and really moves some water. Absolute quality built.
